Not in Canada. If your an American, sure, maybe but this is CanadaBodybuilding.com so I can assume you are Canadian.
I have told my doctor. She was not happy and insisted she gives me regular checkups and blood work. She monitors me pretty closely and watches for any signs of depression or aggression etc. The only thing doctors can't do here legally is give you AAS unless they have a very valid reason and even then they are investigated for giving the prescription.

How does a Doctor monitor you for aggression???
If you tell your doctor and your doctor writes it down in your medical records, when you apply for life insurance, you sign a document that gives your insurance company the clearance to check out your medical records. Once they see you have used AAS, you will be considered a higher risk and thus be charged a higher premium if they choose to accept you as a client.

LMAO thats a great test that always seems to work... I generally respond by saying "I don't know but I better get my $50 pimp charge"... I passed the aggression test...

Yeah but your Doctor cannot do anything about your aggression. That's up to you to control regardless of AAS or not. Saying your Doctor monitors your aggression levels like there is anything they can do about is a pretty foolish thing to say.

I like making sure people don't post incorrect information. What you posted was wrong. She is not monitoring your aggression levels. She is monitoring your blood work though which is a good thing.
This is a forum where discussion is encouraged (the very nature of a discussion forum) so absolutely I like to debate. Especially when someone makes a foolish statement.

It's funny though Nate, his initial comments were at least constructivly supportive to the thread, like what did you gain from your little spell of criticism.

As a matter of fact I am a real tough guy... I fear nothing and no one, especially kids that hide behind a keyboard talking about how big and strong they are with nothing to back their shit up.... You remind me of Bladen off BB.com... Mr. Strongman that was nothing more than a twig when the truth came out and his real identity was exposed... Sorry, maybe that was before your time in this sport....

Of course, you should share your AAS use with your doctor, especially if you're in Canada. My doc has a file, yes, but it is absolutely locked. No insurance corporation has access to his personal files. If you develop a problem related to AAS, how will your doctor know what to do w/o all the information?
Of course, if you have a Xtian fanatic doctor or just plain a dork doc, you should get a new doc!

do not listen to anyone telling you to tell your doctor unless you plan on not ever getting life insurance.
you will sign a life insurance medical record release and be declined likely if you are using drugs.
you will be deemed high risk lifestyle
it is bad advise to be giving you guys. come on. if you want to tell your doctor....go hard, but do not be giving advice to others that is potentially going to affect their families or future families

Asking the doc straight up about secrecy and disclosure would help you make your decision.

Using AAS without any medical supervision is even more likely to affect your family or future families.

You guys are being idiots. Arguing on the internet is like the special olympics, even if you win you're still a retard.
Back to the original posters question. I agree with RagingRandy.

STFU you have been a know-it-all since you came. You want to tell your doctor. go hard. I don't give a ****, but don't be giving advice that it is alright and kosher to confess, as it isn't.
yeah, roids can be harmful when abused and precautions not taken. You have a problem and are scared? don't take them. You don't know how to take the necessary precaution? Read more.
No one gives a **** if you are on or not., but obviously, some here give a **** if you're spouting bad advice

It's obvious you've been doing that a long time, yet everyone seems to tolerate you. Guess that's proof that this is a forum open to all opinions.
Truth is, it depends on the attitude of the doctor you find. If you find one you can trust, you should certainly trust him or her because when it comes to medical problems you need a medical specialist; all the advice on forums or all your verbal spouting won't help you at all.

there, now you're saying something sensible, compared blindly offering advice to tell your doctor.
I will ignore the other bullshit
