Curious how people are training when they run a calorie deficit?

I've always switched over to 3 evenings/wk full body circuit training, high reps low weights little or no rest (I use the "300 workout", Sun Tue Thurs), then follow with 40 min steady pace on the recumbent bike. Weekday mornings I alternate HIIT on the exercise bike (Mon Wed Fri) with 40 min steady pace on the recumb bike (Tue Thurs). Saturday recovery day.

I've seen other people recommend heavy weights and low reps to try to maintain strength. I was concerned this would break down muscle and with a calorie deficit you would actually lose muscle.

Just looking for people's thoughts and what they've found works best for them.

Pretty much the same way as when bulking. I don`t beleive high reps make you cut, it`s about the diet and what works for you. If high reps make me loose mass while bulkiing they do an even worse effect while cutting.

Correct. Sometimes a slow scaling back of volume whilst keeping weights heavy.
