Someone told me AAS can permanently stop bones from growing. Is there any truth to this? At 6 feet I'm not worried but I have a few buds shorter than me considering AAS.

I believe your bones stop growing when you reach your early 20's so it would be logical to stay off until you hit about that age. Your friends included.

It does stop the plate from growing once you start taking gear it seal the end of the plates.I start at 19 and i'm okay at 5'6 now 34 years old.
I've read many books about when people stop grow anywere from 20,21,22.Some still grow past that age of 22 but that's the really tall people and it rare.

Yes AAS can and will stop growth plates from growing if taken at an immature age (before 20-21). Specially if it is Testosterone.
