Hey guys. Anyone remember the BODYOPUS DIET, made popular by Dan Duchaine? I remember following the diet years ago, (when I was in my 20's.....pre - wife and kids), and found it so much easier to follow. I tried it again after dusting off the old book last week, and man.....it just seems a little tougher this time around. Anyone have any experiences?

It's basically a keto diet with a weekend carb-up, but he also denotes a specific workout regimen.....namely a full body, high rep workout on the Friday, right before the carb up begins.

The carb up is also a bit technical. Simple sugars starting after the full body Friday workout, progressing to more complex carbs by the Sunday. Then back to carb-free fun on Monday.

There is a bit more to it, but that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

It's just a little tougher for me nowadays without the carbs, I am on day 3, and man do I feel sluggish. I wasn't going to do any ECA, until closer to summertime, but it looks like I am going to have to kick some in.

you should post the diet as I'm sure a lot would be interested. If I could find my version I would do it.

I will post it tonight. i am at work right now, and I've got the book at home. FYI, the book is entitled Underground BODYOPUS militant weight loss and recompositon by Dan Duchaine, circa 1996.

It is a bit of an old book, but in my mind still a classic.

Yeah. He always had some great info. I still have old back issues of Muscle Media, (before they sold out), and some of that info, (on diet, training and even anabolics) is still pertinent today.

I still remember the Muscle Media where he described how to get and exactly the kitchen chemistry to prepare finaplex [step by step]! unbelievable stuff for a magazine you could buy at 7-11. When the mag started it was about telling it like it is.

Body Opus is a great book and I'm not letting my copy go. I heard that there was an e-copy of it somewhere online if anyone's interested it is worth looking for.

y not switch it up and go low fat? gives u the carbs u need to get energy to train and u'll still lose weight...and likely look fuller

so far ahead of it's time it's remarkable really. I can't think of another book with as much impact in the bbing community aside from perhaps the Anabolic Diet. I would look into the Ultimate Diet 2.0 it is more of an updated and complete version of the CKD.

Ya Bro...have the book on my shelf! I used that as my competition diet for 3 shows! Duchaine was my God in the 1990s!
