no idea who this doc is, but always shop around & get references.

I had mine done here (manitoba) twice, once in my teens (a simple lipo job) by a total hack and a second time (actual extraction) by a good doc.

very minor scars

There are 2 listed for Ottawa here:

http://www.ratemds.com/social/?q=node/28882&sid=58&orderby=DLName&letter=S

Scroll down and select the one you want. I assume he would be listed under plastic surgery...if so then he ranks 4.7/5.

Legal has me wondering...but thanks sean, read through the feedback seems like everyone was happy who had him do stuff, the few others didnt have him do anything just rated their consultation poorly

How would he know? Did you tell your doc? Otherwise just say had it since puberty. Causing you back pain that is getting worse.

I would think that it would be higher ($4000) if they put you under. Get it a bit cheaper by asking for a local.

If you have a really bad case, they have no choice but to put you under.

Highest I heard through Thoma ( put under ) was $1200, that is, if it's not all covered under OHIP.

My last buddy who got it done by him had tubes left in for a week or two, apparantly it speeds up the recovery and keeps swelling down. Never heard of that but I like that he takes extra measures.

I had this surgery done 4 years ago. It was performed at the North York General Hospital here in Toronto.

I had initially gone to my Family Doctor to complain about my chest. I told him that it was severely effecting me in the following manner.

As a professional in an office environment, the ever increasing soreness and the sporadic lactation through my dress shirt was bringing on Undue stress.

He confirmed that it was Gyno (both sides) and suggested that I hold off a few months to see if it resided. Of course it did not and I went to see him again.

He proceeded to setup an appointment with the Breast Diagnostic Centre North York General Hospital.
I went in (Among countless woman in the waiting room.... WOW was I never the black sheep) and along came my turn.. this doctor again confirmed and based on my case info from my family doc he spoke about the option of Surgery. Of course I put on the concerned look and asked a lot of questions......

Went in with my father (who waited in the waiting room for me during the procedure).
Two tiny incisions were made along the areola and the tissue was removed.

I had stitches, medical tape and bandage over top for 1 week. Removed the bandage and left the Medical Tape on for one more week. The stitches dissolved on their own.

It's funny how I read about the horror stories of ppl getting this done by any other then a Plastic Surgeon and the devastating outcome..

You'd never knew I had it done and my chest is looking great!

I paid $0.00 for it.
OHIP covered it all.
I live in Ontario and have a run of the mill Family doctor.

Save your money and play it off as something which is causing you undue stress. It's effecting your ability to focus at work and your work is suffering.. You feel very off...... Unbalanced....etc...etc....
Shed a tear if need be…

Save your money....

True true.. In my case, I guess you can say I was lucky.

I am very happy however with the results and would not have it any other way.
