Thought I would log my progress and some enteries from my diet and supplements for any gentleman whose ladies may be thinking of doing a show in the future; general curiosity and for any woman on the forum that just might want to see differences in their own diets to someone else's.

This is my fourth out of five years that I'll be entering a contest; with two this year. First being May 16th. In the past I have used a well known pro in the vacinity. And, just my general thought; although this pro worked well for some; not all competitors can use the same "cookie cutter" diet. As the years go by you become familiar with your body and how it reacts or doesn't react to certain foods or even combinations of foods along with training. I decided to go back to my original trainers (whom are also pro's) knowing full well the diet is much more strict than the latter. And, for that....I welcome. My body responds very slowly and needs a much more astringent diet.
My first year competiting I stepped on stage at 98 lbs.
Second year was 108 lbs.
Third year was 118 lbs...and not nearly as lean as I should have been.
Two years later...and my estimated weight for this year is 120 - 125 lbs.
Keep in mind I'm 5'3.
I'm starting this year at 160 lbs. (ya...I'm "fluffy"...and I like it!!)

I'll keep a post at the progress and post pics along the way...just not yet!

Again...keep in mind this diet is strict and does not allow options I have had in the past.
I start Dec. 27 - 20 weeks out
2 lbs loss per week
45 minutes of cardio 7 x per week

Calories starting at is 2054
1029 pro/fat
1025 carb

Meals are six times a day

2.5 oz. oatmeal
8 egg whites
1/2 c. skim milk
I keep the milk for my coffee and with the egg whites and oatmeal; I make my "mini pancakes" with calorie free syrup.

Meals are generally broken into

Chicken, tuna, turkey breast or another white fish (yup...no beef or bison on this diet)
rice, potato or yams ( I prefer yams cut into french fries and baked with cajun spice)
Veggies such as salad, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green beans...or some other fibrous choice.

I always have on hand sugar free Kool aid, Crystal Lite, Diet Dr.Pepper (my fav!)
For a salad dressing I use Brown Sugar Twin, Apple Cider Vinegar and some Mrs. Dash. Mix all three up and adjust the flavor.

I like to do cardio first thing in the am to get it out of the way and I prefer to do it on an empty stomach.

Multivitamin
Vitamin C
BCAA's
Tribulus (when not cycling)
MCT Oil or Flax Oil (this particular diet can be very drying on the hair and skin...and even cause constipation moreso than wanted!)

I'm starting with 10 mg of Anavar daily and 50 mg of EQ x1 week. My size for figure is good enough and no more mass is needed.

I weigh myself every morning and log. Being female I think it's important to do more often than men since our weights fluctuate more often. This way you can monitor any changes due to circumstances such as hormones, change in supplements, general water retention and even stress.
Plus....I can get a general idea if my weight is going to drop or not so that my trainers and I can be ahead of the game when staying on track to the required poundage drop.

As time goes on...I'll even post things I need to start thinking about such as tanning, suit selection, shoes, hair...etc. (REAL exciting for you men or...uhm..cross dressers still in the closet)
But, there is more thought into our appearance of course. It's all about stage presence. And, every year...the look from judges is slightly different. It's good to keep in contact with someone who can give you a heads up in competitor selections. Are the judges looking for softness this year...or hard? Should your posing change to alter the look of your physique? Such things need to be taken into consideration. Luckily...my trainers are in close contact with such information.

I'f I've missed anything you would like to know...or are curious about; please don't hesitate to post and ask.

Not everything may make sense to you; but there's a validation behind everything to my trainers; whom I lay my full confidence in. As long as I stick to what they ask...and I place 100% discipline into myself...I'll be a success. And to each individual; the definition of success is different and very personal.
Now...I've rambled enough!

I like that your diet is flexable. Fish, chicken, tuna etc. Not eating the same thing daily makes it more enjoyable and do-able.

The previous years dieting through different trainers have allowed skim milk, bison or beef. I personally found they keep my skin thicker looking; and I've never leaned out quit as well with them as without.

Weight is down to 161 as of Sunday morning. I mainly contribute that to water retention from Christmas dinner....and perhaps a few cookies here and there.

Weight has been fluctuating since Saturday; yet never going past what I started at. Could be the EQ and Var, could be my body adjusting to the calories.

Trainers have taken out 100 calories from carbs and placed it with 100 calories of protein.

I've left out a starch at my last meal and increased the protein and fibrous veg.

Carbs are now 925
Protein is now 1125 calories

January 7, 2009

Supplements have caused a small weight fluctuation as foreseen; but calories have been cut...only by 50 cals and only from carbs.

Daily intake is roughly around
2004
875 carbs
1132 pro

Body is leaning up and strength is increasing. Appetite is still shit....
