Canada Customs and Seizure Letters?

I have read a lot of post on the web and a lot of people say that Canada doesn't send Seizure Letters. But according to the Canada Customs Act - http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/showdoc...:l_VI-gb:s_110

Under Seizures number 110

"Notice of seizure
(4) An officer who seizes goods or a conveyance as forfeit under subsection (1) or (2) shall take such measures as are reasonable in the circumstances to give notice of the seizure to any person who the officer believes on reasonable grounds is entitled to make an application under section 138 in respect of the goods or conveyance."

If I am reading the law correct they have to send a letter. It would seem kind of funny to me if they didn't because it would mean customs could take what they want and not tell you. If so I think I need to become a customs office.

Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this? Am I interpreting the law correctly?

Although i have never received a seizure notice i have had friends who have (Quebec). I think the stories in which no seizure notice is involved is the reason that there are so many jacked custom agents ;)

You will get a letter if they seize something coming to your addy..... And here's some advice for you... If you get a seizure at an addy, never order anything there again.... Sounds simple and pretty stupid but MANY people have gotten in trouble by having things delivered to an addy that already got a seizure.... Consider that addy red flagged after ANY seizure....

I have recived seizure letters for IGF twice , but never have recieved one for "gear" and they seized my gear (orals) twice..

i have never received a letter and had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of gear taken by customs.

i firmly believe they take it and sell it/use it.

take is advice the address is red flagged, i know someone who got is house searched by 20 ppl of the custom after repeated seizure dont take it lightly bro.

that alone says you ain't getting your steroids back or a letter...there is no reasonable grounds for 99% of Canadians to have ordered steroids overseas...

I ordered an airsoft gun from korea once when i was 16 that got taken by customs, they sent me a seizure letter after 2 months.

This was the line that I was stuck on as well when I read it. Why do they always make laws that are left open to interpretations. Why not just make it clear cut and no BS.

I've had a siezure letter for hcg....... and some gear taken by customs.... but never a letter of siezure for gear
