Didnt see it

But I think hes been out there too long by himself .

But good for him for doing that, even though it took his life . Look at Steve Irwen .
I would love to so somthing like that . I have gone fishing in Kodiak Island with the grizzlys and they got close a few times and it was exciting at times lol
but I love those kinds of risks . I have done hikes in Tweedsmure park ( Canada's Grizzly park ) for weeks at a time with out a gun or pepper spray . I loved it

Your right , but he still died doing what he loved . We all could hope for that .

All the loved ones I have lost in my life died becouse of an accedent by some drunk or an infection of some sort none of which I would want for myself.

quack or not , still died in a way he wanted to

It's one thing to die doing something you love, like stroking out when you're banging... but to die having a grizzly eating your guts while you are still alive is fuked up.

I get the dieing doing what you love but this guy was delutional. I grew up in the woods, seriously, i was a bush rat and the one thing this guy didn't get was respect. It doesn't make you a better human being trying to bond with these animals, it just makes you stupid..

I was surpriced he survived as long as he did.. Personally i think he was a couple bricks shy of a load..

Werner Herzog, who directed the film, is a pure original and a flat out twisted genius. I love every single film of his that I've ever seen, and I'm dying to see Grizzly Man.

Timothy Treadwell wasn't what we would consider normal. But what is normal. He had something he believed in, and went for it. Not many here can say they are living their dream.

I am very torn over this guy, and this film. I consider myself an accomplished hunter/outdoorsman and I wouldn't in a hundred years take chances like he took with those bears. I understand why he did it, and i understand that you shouldn't fear animals, but you need to respect them, their strength, and unpredictability.

I would have the utmost respect for the guy if he didn't get the girl killed. The man was a little faggy, but had balls. To stand up and slap a bear across the face for getting too close....fuuuuck. That's balls of steel. He toured schools and brought bear awareness to countless children.

All that aside though, it was a remarkable film, and I will watch it a hundred times beofre I die.

I'll have to see if I can download it .
Ive been close enough to a grizzly where I could smell its breath ( or was that the shit in my pants ?? ) but ya if the guy had balls enough to slap one in the face .. its definitly worth watching .
I love documentry shows

And i bet you didn't go out looking for that experience, it just happened. You have enough respect for these animals to have shit your pants, and rightly so. This moron go's out and purposely put's himself in these situations and than is shocked when he has to "slap" the Griz.

Believe me if you have been around Griz. you sit and hope he gets eaten. God put guys like that on this planet for food, its the natural order of thing's, lol.

Only sad part was the girl..

I did go in knowing they were very frequent in that area and I was self aware of my suroundings at all times . I was in Tweedsmure park mushroom picking . ) not the majic ones but White Pines )
shiting my pants was a humerouse joke . If I had done that , chances are higher that I would have been mauled

I do have a respectful fear of them . but I dont go out of my way to avoid them . Once you get it in your head that you are in their house and go by their rules . you SHOULD be ok .

Best tip I have ever had going into places like that ......
1, take a friend . preferably more out of shape than you are .
2, make sure your hiking boots have better traction than your friends
3, YOU carey the climbing equipment
4, your friend carys the food

I go in those places alone often with out a gun or pepper spray .
Pepper spray is just seasoning for you with the bear thats all . if he really wants you bad enough , hes going to get you . and they will be prey upon you if they have to . if you watch them they know how to be wide open but sneeky also .

Good saftey tip's! Ya i figured the shitting your pants was just a joke. But point taken on how a guy feels when up against something so powerful and unpredictable.

The one thing i was glad to see in this movie is they didn't try to make this guy out to be some kind of environmental martyr. Even the people they interviewed didn't come right out and say he was a bit off, but the insinuation was there.

yeah. had a good heart. wouldn't hurt a flea. maybe he was stupid? maybe he actually had mastered the bears, and the reason he died was due to the girl. who knows.
never will know either.

All I do know is his last 13 years or whatever of his life was better then the 13 preceding it.
