Sure it's like the crappiest ROM ever, but it still looks like it's 700lbs, he might just be trying to train his CNS, most likely he's an idiot though.

That looks pretty funny but as mentioned above.... It's still a lot of weight and tho he is only moving it inches I have seen some power lifters use that style of training to get themselves through sticking points....

The guy does look like a moron tho... lol

its called power lockouts. you can do that with bench press too.

whats funny is the guy. prancing around like a little fairy, and his antics in general.

He's obviously a little touched but it was very entertaining.

Sad thing is I see guys with full faculties doing the same thing.

Yes the prancy-dancy pull the shorts up your ass and attack the BB technique.
I love that everyone started cheering him on at the end:puff

This is lockout training, no momentum involved. Buddy with the shorts crammed up his crack is bouncing the bar off the damn pins, its insane, stupid, a really great way to **** up your spine, and amusing in the same way that shows like World's Stupidest ****ing People are.

It's hard to tell for sure but I think he has a mental disability. I feel bad for the guy but he shouldn't be allowed to train like that. Since when are people allowed video cameras in gyms anyways? That would be more annoying than someone with a cell phone.

I'd agree. I've known a couple of people with mental disabilities who've trained and he's got the same type of 'quirkiness' to what he's doing.

A rack lockout only works if their is a pause on the pins. This dissipates the stretch reflex of the muscles and makes the lifter have to overcome the inertia of the weight, or can be used to teach a lifter how to strain.

One can also use the pins to the concentric only portion of the lift allowing for minimal eccentric loading and thus less muscle soreness and increased recovery for the CNS.
