225x10=2250
275x19=5225
335x2=0670 (weird pulling in my bicep in my armpit so I stopped short)
335x7=2345 (weird pulling gone... huh?)
225x15=3375
225x18=4050
225x19=4275
135x43=5805 (stopped at what I thought might be around 50... lost count)

Total=27,995lbs in 25 mins

Not great I don't think, but I've never truly looked at my volume before (read: recorded) and I thought it was ok.

Interesting way to look at it, I'd be proud of that. I'd say you broke a good sweat and did more physical work in 25 min than a lot of people do all day.

Ummmm... If I was 50lbs lighter I'd be :hu but as it stands I've got a sweet layer goin' for the winter months to come, hehehe. I'm 304 as of yesterday at just over 5'8" and look good at 240-250.

That must have been a pretty good pump after 135 x 43

Not bad. I was already pretty pumped and 135 was SOOO light I really didn't feel it. I was just gonna go to 50 and stop but I lost count and just kinda stopped at what I thought 50 was and I was off. I actually figure I could've done closer to 110-120 reps with that weight, but was just looking for enough volume to beat the guy I was squaring off against, lol! It worked!

100 reps of 135 lbs??!?!?! WTF! dude thats retarded. I bang out 25 reps of 135 and im wicked proud of myself. how long have you been training?

AlladdinSane

Properly? 9ish years.
3 years of hit and miss sloppy benching and curling like every other high-school kid initially, though. LOL

yeah, thats a good point. ive been training for about 6 years, i would say 3 years properly at best. in the last 3 years i have made triple the gains i made in the first 3. proper training and diet has made a huge difference for me. what are your numbers like on incline?

AlladdinSane
12-12-2008, 07:34 PM
Incline Dumbells - 150s x 6-8 (Haven't been done in a while, but they would be easy enough. Last time I did DB work was at a shite gym and the heaviest they had were 125s and managed to pull off just over 20 reps with that. 23 I think)

Incline Barbell - 365-385 x 3-5 maybe more reps, but not many more, LOL.

Flat Barbell - 405 x 1 serious sticking point in my progression and I think it's mostly mental.

my last set is always a pump set with 135. I get such a great burn and pump it makes it all worth while. After wards I feel like exploding.
I dont think i do 50 though LOL

Good work bro, i do that type of volume once in awhile to check out my progression....I got 405 for 3 a couple months ago....I was stuck at 1 forever, then i just left it and got heavier on all my weights, including squats and deads...Went back to bench after about 7-8 weeks, and boom, up it went...I believe it was mostly mental and cns limitations for me...DC helped me through it..
keep it up bro....

Why so many reps? Isn't that overtraining?

Sorry, I'm just unfamiliar with that kind of workout... please fill me in!

Yeah, I noticed that too. Pretty damn big. Have you ever had issues with sleep apnea AlladinSane? Just curious.

Overtraining is all in the mind bro IMO
While being the size of AlladdinSane And to keep added muscle to his frame he has to Keep confusing his muscles, high reps, low reps, high sets ,low sets and so on...

I change my workouts every week. :)

Ya, I get the muscle confusion thing.. I just didn't know we could do that many reps! lol..

I'd love to see some of the routines you guys do.. seems like I still have a lot to learn.. I've been pretty stuck in the 'ol 12-10-8 or 10-10-8, etc... but lookin at that set with reps all over the place... makes me think...

Damn AlladdinSane, you're a big un!!

I agree BIGGOPPAPUMP, i think the term "overtraining" is a bit over used. To be truely overtrained would take a long time to recover from, up to month's.

What most of us do would be over reaching, it's "pushing yourself into a mild state of fatigue with your training. Regression in performance sometimes does occur during an over-reaching period, yet performance rebounds back very quickly, usually above and beyond it's previous level, with a short period of rest or lowered volume (within days). It can be good or bad depending on how you use it." .....Kelly Baggett

No such thing as over-training. Only under-nourishment, IMO.

Pretty bad as I was GETTING heavier. Now that I AM heavy and I've had time to get used to it, not at all, really.

yep your one big boy, keep up the good work.
if I was ever around your area i would go check out your gym just to see the giants in there. I live in a small town I dont think I ever saw anyone press 405since i've been working out.

Good point, but ive debated it before and lost....lolol...I tend to agree with you, but i have been trying more days off and i have found better strength, pumps, and sleep way, way better...I find when i go 6 days per week, im buggered after a few weeks...2 of my trainers have really bashed it in my head that overtraining is real....Im not a scientist, or biology expert so i have to believe them....
DC for instance is very big on not overtraining, and he has shown many good Gainers and himself is a testament to his ideals...
I tried overeating and got to 280, without a whole bunch of fat and still looked ok...i got used to that eating and still i couldnt get away from the feeling of overtraining...
But wtf do i know, i just do as im told these days instead of trying to re-invent the wheel all the time, and it appears to be working...ill soon find out i suppose...

Maybe i am just to damn old:ne
