I am going in a week. Have been there before but I never tried to take any supplements with me. Does anyone know if you can whey powder and vitamins (animal pak) on an Air Canada flight? Does anyone know where I look to see if this ok? Thanks.

If they are in your check in most likely they wouldn't get caught. But why not use the week to take a break from supplements? I can understand the whey if you're not going all-inclusive but if you are just eat the food. Take a week off Animal Pak, in fact just throw that shit in the garbage.

I don't really need to take the stuff. I just found that last time that I went it was hard to get food later at night. I am going all inclusive to Varadero. Thanks for the replies.

I've been to Santa Lucia Cuba before. I stayed at the Brisas. Great place Santa Lucia. There's a couple of night clubs on the main road along with 3 or 4 resorts, not much else there. The night clubs are the place to be at night, good place to party with the locals.

Don't bring anything if your flight stops in the USA.

Direct flight is ok.
No commercial flights ever touch US soil.(when going or coming from cuba)

I am fly out tomorrow to Varadero. I am taking protein and greens but those are for my wife as the food there is WELL......crap. Drink lots of water as the sodium content in resort food is off the scale. I bloated like a beach ball on my last trip. I do not travel with gear or pill type supplements as I think it is too risky.

Second that, the resort we stayed at last year was quite good.... although they do start to look at you kinda funny when you keep asking for cinco pechuga de pollo at every meal. :D

The tylenol will kill your liver before any gear or booze would.

NO tylenol in this house.

Just got back from Varadero on Sunday. Weather, trip and resort were great. Don't know if it is the current economy but the town and the resorts were completely dead (went from Dec 13-21). I went 2 years ago in the off season and there was way more tourists. The staff at my resort said they really hope it picks up x-mas week. Alot of guests also said they thought it was rather dead. The exchange was pretty crappy. $100 CUC was around $140-145 CDN dollars depending on the days exchanges rate which moved between 1.41 and 1.37. Don't remember it being that bad last time I went. Other then that it was a great time and I got no hassle with the vitamins and protien bars that I took (they didn't even look).

Problem is my wife does not get to eat at the buffet every day as she is Cuban and lives in Cuba. We tend to stay in lower tiered resorts as 4 trips a year is hard on the pocket book. The food at the place we stayed at this time was edible. There was enough things in season to put out a decent spread.

I went to Mexico last year and I put 4 or 5 protein bars in my carry on bag and they went thru. Worst comes to worst they take your supps. But a weak off wont kill you. All inclusive is usually pretty easy to get your protein and whatnot in.
