View Full Version : Excess Fat Gain During Cycles

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems a lot of people's cycles are "dirty bulks" where they put lots of muscle, but also a lot of fat.
Is the fat usually just a result of them jacking their calories too high, or is it also a result of excess estrogen levels making them more prone to storing fat?

its all about diet.
One respected member from another board (he is a pro) SWEARS by filthy ****ing dirty bulks. Like 4 pizzas a week, mcdonalds 4-5 times per week, just the grossest shit you ever heard, but he says he will put on massive amounts of muscle, then cut up, then compete, then do it all over again.
i guess you can theoretically grow faster, but I just cant handle the belly anymore. I do this for girls mostly, and feeling good of course. The dirty bulks no longer do it for me.

I am starting to realize that the dirtier your bulk the longer your cut. So I am trying to keep the bulking cleaner.

Very true bro . it is easyer to cut up with a clean diet not to mention safer to your health keeping it clean . I cant amagin what it would do to me eating that much junk . heart problems colesteral ect

All good points, and lets not forget to mention overall health.. I'd like to see the lipid profile's of some of these "nasty" bulkers... McDonald's 4-5 times a day ? **** man... I feel like puking right now
Eat good = look good.
You can eat 7-8k calories a day ( if that's what you wanted ) and get it mostly from clean foods, just add in healthy fats..Maybe a homemade 1k mega shake ...Things most people neglect and the easiest way to add calories in a bulk is healthy fats... I might "up" my cheat meal to 2 a week when bulking but I find an overall clean bulk will be easier on you both mentally and physically...

I just came off a 20 week low carb cutter, but my bulker is essentially the same diet with more carbs and a little more fats. I learned that I am pretty carb sensitive as far as bloating and shit, so I might start cutting carbs back a little.

I think that it all depends on your metabolism. I have known national level BB's who eat at burger king, pizza hut, etc daily and they go no higher than 10%in the off season. **** I would love to be able to do that.

The way I look at it when the clothes come off you gotta look good.
"hey babe I am bulking right now come back to me in 2 months".
Any married guy will tell you diet is less of an issue.

offseason I maintain 310+ at 15%-18% BF. I don't have a problem with how I look when the clothes come off. Neither does the 5'2, 105lb gymnast chick I'm currently banging.
But, I look how I want to look for me... not to get pussy. If I wanted MORE pussy I'd stay contest'ish shape year-round.
Diet and cardio help to keep you leaner in the off-season,and you don't need to go all out with cardio,shit i do 20 minutes of cardio for off-season.

clean bulk is where its at, a lot of people have the misconception that you need to get fatter to gain mass, which is totally a myth. most people eat a shit load of junk while they bulk.. a good example of that is Trey Brewer, this past year he got WAY too fat and then on stage he actually looked worse then last year.. but with that said, estrogen does play a big role in muscle gain, so in other words some fat must be gained but not nearly as much as people think.. going over 12% bf is too much if you ask me.

yes cardio is great all year around, especially if you are a mesomorph, hard gainer tend to get away with doing no cardio and staying pretty lean during a bulk.. in my opinion it really depends on your genetics.. either way, one should do cardio at a low pace all year around just for health reasons.
