Hey everyone,

Was made aware of this article today:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/matt20.htm

Any truth to it? I'm a bit skeptical since it seems many people on here like the DB fly.

Thanks,
Josh

Any weightlifting exercise can hurt you. Overhead pressing motions are hard on your shoulders, supinated grip deadlift/rows can damage your biceps etc... It's all about form, control and balance. Also, if your mindset is to lift as much weight as possible than chances are you will eventually hurt yourself regardless of what you're doing. I think you found that out not too long ago right?

rotator kuffs are prone to injury. In theory one should "warm up" priror to doing them (obviously) and not to over extend.

I find dumbell flies a much more natural movement and smoother, especially when the palms face eachother ....feel it targetting alot more than some other compound chest movements

I have seen stretch marks that some say are caused by them. Does anyone else agree?

Garbage article, what is that guys credentials? He writes piss poorly, and im not really sure he knows anatomy that well....

Or maybe he just isnt good at articulating what he knows.

So squats are bad, dead lifts are bad, overhead pressing is bad, bench, dips, and now flys.

I guess there's no point in going to the gym anymore: Fitness is bad for you!

Muscularmayor and Gib summed it up pretty well. I thought it was probably BS, but I'm still quite a noob, so I need to check in with you guys. Thanks for the thoughts.
