A friend of mine just sent me this and I think it's something everyone who owns a cell should know

Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER .... All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
Companies and you will start to receive sale calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
1 866-580-3625 or 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.
It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone
Number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
Or you can do it online at www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca

Being in the cellular industry, I assure you the cellular companies are not releasing the numbers to telemarketing companies. It is against privacy laws to do so. That being said, any company that uses an auto dialier will eventually dial you on your cell. Not a bad idea to register to the DNCL so if needed a case can be made.

You read my inmediate train of thought.

But I also speculated that since the major cell company phone holders may be struggling due to the financial circumstances. then I thought Bell and or Rogers would want to negotiate their privacy act in regards to holding numbers private or so.
I've had 3 different cell numbers with Bell over the past 15 years, and ONLY once did I ever get a telemarketers call---needless to say I was shocked

I will call my cell company and blast them.
