To get the full resolution out of a 30" (Typically 2560x1600) you will need a video card with dual DVI connections. A single DVI cable is not capable of supporting that high a resolution on it's own.

Video cards with this capability range from $60 to $$$ of dollars, it all depends if you want to do some serious gaming with the card. You'll also need to know what type of slot your video card goes into (PCI-Express, AGP, PCI, etc)..if your computer is fairly new, I can almost guarantee it uses PCI-Express. In that case, something like the following card would work just fine..

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33527&vpn=EN8800GS%2FHTDP%2F384M&manufacture=ASUS

That's the cheapest I could find doing a quick search. However, you should confirm your computers video card slot before ordering.

I've been working in IT for 15 years, so if you have any more questions, PM me...

Great to know that we have a resident IT specialist :)

Make sure the card is a "dual link" not simply dual connections. The dual allows you to connect 2 monitor. "Dual link" is the connection type and is actually a single cable. For dual link to work you need to make sure you have that type of connection on your LCD. If you are going for a new card anyway you would be better off getting a card with an HDMI hookup. Your LCD will more than likely have that.

Also if you are running a computer with an AGP slot it is probably time for an upgrade as PCI-Express has been out for a couple years.
