I'm starting this thread because there are alot of issues we women would like to talk about with each other. These topics don't fit other threads nor the off topic section These post would get lost in there or misunderstood by the male species.
It's not just for chat but about issues we may have or things of interest we want to share and get feedback on. Let's keep each other updated on life and how our training is going.

Men may participate as we will appreciate the feedback from the metrosexuals in the group as well.

Family pictures, pics of the pets, new purchases of clothing and of course feel free to do some bitching about the partners. Test is allowed but bring your estrogen sisters. Let's give meaning to hormonal rage!

That last post was a cut and pasted post I started on MN in 2005.

Always the same sisters..just a different site and ages.

Introduce yourselves and your goals here. What's on your plate? Boss problems...mother in law situation...snotty teen age daughter?

In my real life I have no gfs who are into the bodybuilding lifestyle. Your my family and my great listeners.

Great thread to start FC.

Of course there are few gals at the gym that compete in Figure; but it's a very caddy sport and find bodybuilders much more easily to get along with.

I'm an easy going gal and really don't have hormonal rages....yet. Diet season is fast approaching and I'll certainly fill this thread fast!!

Seems as though people become more stupid as I diet! Ironic...hmmmm

Thanks....

It's in May; which is a 1st Annual Prairie's competition and than provincials in June...if I can handle dieting for another month.

I'm super excited to see the changes. After Nationals; my body needed a good time to recover and grow. And...my head needed some refocusing as to why I do this year after year.

Welcome...both 69 and I have done back to back shows and it's do able, not easy but it can be done. IMO I would do them again back to back again

ONLY provincials is ages away from Nationals this time around. I'm retired but who knows?

Yes we bodybuilders..(69 is one at heart) are easier to get along with. No cats here dear.

I hear ya! How many years have you been competing? What class(es) do you
compete in? I'm in short and master's divisions. Looks like we have the same schedules in 09. I'm doing the South Centrals in May then the provincials in June.

This will be my fourth year competing. I'm short class provincial level, medium at National level. I'm 5'3 and just miss the cut off for short..damn it. NOT to my advantage. Even a girl with 1/2 an inch over me looks different physique wise.

I'm still a couple of years off from master's...for figure it's 35. Correct me if I'm wrong...but I think Master's for bodybuilding is a more mature age?

My first show I weighed in at 98 lbs.
Second show I weighed in at 108 lbs and took 3rd in short class
Third show I was 108 again (leaner) and came in 10th at National level.

This year, trainers are looking at 118lbs on stage. Big jump from when I first started.

Glad to have you two here; I know I'll be able to whine, bitch or cry with support!

Or a good ol' fashion ass kicken when I get a little carb depleted and have one too many brain farts

WOW! I'm 5 feet and weighed in around 98lbs at the South Centrals (took 1st in the masters and 2nd in the short class). At the provincials, I went in leaner (95lbs) which was a big mistake (as judges were going for a less defined, and softer look). I got killed!

Trainer is looking to come in about 103-105 next season. We'll see, I'm pretty excited to see what happens when I start prep! In the mean time, I'm really enjoying this off season:)

I'm 5 ft 5 girls. My first show I was 109, my second I was 112. Provincials I was 114 and Nationals i was 122. At Nationals I never stood on the scale because in Masters it does not matter what we weight so I'm going on what I was when I left home before dehydration.

As I look at Masters Bodybuilding now. If I saw the women we see now I would have never tried to compete. It's unreal the size these ladies have at that age.

Wow. You ladies all seem so great! It's awsome to see some Canadian women that are competitors!

I just joined CCB so I will give a few details about myself. I have always been active but never use to watch what I ate. I joined my gym in 2005 when I met my current boyfriend who was (and still is) very into weight lifting. I fell in love with working out. I was able to lose some weight on my own but my diet still needed help. I did eat healthier but it wasn't until I joined another website (bodybuilding.com) that I realized what 'healthy' really meant. After reading and learning what proper nutrition really was I lost a little more weight. Then came the plateau. I was struggling and became frustrated with myself. There was no way I was going to just stop and give in though. I found a great trainer online and she set me up with a great training and diet plan. More body fat came off.
I was able to lose more and my body looked leaner than I could ever have imagined. That was about 2-3 months ago. Since I lost the body fat I am now on a bulking (or as I like to call it 'lean massing') program. I plan to continue doing a clean bulk until June. If everything goes as planned I hope to cut again afterwards to reveal my new gained muscle.
I would also like to add that I am doing an online body transformation contest. The official start date is today and it ends June 3rd. I am sooo nervous and excited about it.

I hope to meet some amazing ladies on here and learn all that I can from them :)

This is a great thread-to vent on and get great advice. I myself am alone on this journey to what-I am not quit sure yet-my head is def. in the game-how far I want to go-I think I will know more when I see more progress-maybe I am just afraid of my potential or failing. Get the psychologist ready-l.o.l. Hearing and seeing the incredible results of the rest of u ladies is extremely inspiring and I look to this site for help and support. I am glad I am active on it again. I look forward to learning from you all.

Hi Wonderwomen, :popc2It's been over a year since I had a vacation. I am planning to visit my daughter in Boca Raton, Florida in July. Hopefully she has her life turned around and I won't have to stay with her boyfriend, whom I'm hating more and more by the day.

I'm sooo broke but will use my air miles to pay for the trip. A long haul now cost 35,000 points. I have enough for 2 trips but no cash to spend when I get there.

We use to go camping but now that DH and I are separated, it seems no one in the family gives it much thought because we use to borrow father in laws camper.

Hi Felinecougar! It sounds like u def. need a well deserved getaway for urself-getting pampered, relaxing, having some fun!! That is so nice that u will do that for ur daughter-despite whatever is going on with her-and the boyfriend-sounds like an unhealthy sit. What moms won't do for their children though-i hope its appreciated. I hope u get to go on ur vaca.'s -we all need a lil' getaway. :)

Thanks 4 the reply-enjoy ur week away at the cottage when u go!!

Go White Water Rafting. Ottawa area. Then you can take in the outdoors, sleep in tents and have a bit of summer beach fun too. Go...you'll love it.

We actually decided last night that we are doing this-there are great places in Ottawa too-u r right on the money-my hubby has been b4 to 3 of them in Ottawa-he says there is one in particular geared to ppl. in our age bracket-where he went bungi jumping, white water rafting etc.-We are going to plan for a large group to go. I am super excited since i have only done this in the Grand Canyon-but it was calm waters then-so I want a bit more excitement this time around (-: Thanks for the advice-sooooo nice of u-perfect advice since that is what we were totally chatting about last night-u must be psychic-hehe...I m super stoked. By the way-I was thinking about u and ur air miles.....it is soooooooooo cheap to fly to Florida right now-I understand ur sit.-but if u could I would try and buy a ticket and save those air miles for somewhere else-u can use them for more than just flights too(groceries, clothes, movie tickets-etc, etc, etc) as I'm sure u already know-but if u don't plan to use them anywhere else-than ofcourse why not use them up for Florida if u still plan on going to visit ur daughter that is. Thanks for the reply-have a great day D.:) Also-looking fwd. to the Wine Fest in the 'Burg again this Year-have u ever attended? It is sooooooo fun-big time social event-we allllll had a blast last year-I can't believe I have never been b4. The same with Pelee Island-have u ever gone there? I live right here and can't believe I havn't done this yet either-maybe this yr.? :flagC

Hi Ladies! I am new to this site/forum.
I was reading some of the comments from hardtohandle and 69challenger, and I am around there size in height, but my weight is a lot higher. I was looking to compete in figure in April 2010, and I didn't think that I would have to lose too much more weight. I am wondering now, if i maybe too heavy for figure, and may have to go into the BB class? Any advice on that one?
A bit about myself, I am 27yrs old, 5'1" and 117lbs. I used to be small, then got married, had a kid, and when the kid come out, the weight hung around, lol. The heaviest I was when I hopped on the scale, was 194lbs. I stayed that way for a couple of years, then decided to do something about it. My Husband and I started hitting the local gym together. Imagine that, the weight started to shed. So here I am today. My husband is in the military, so I have a ton of free time on my hands to dedicate to weight training. Looking at some of the stats, I may have to re-evaluate what class I go into. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated, as I am fairly new. Thanks in advance!

Where do you live and train at/
PureRapture the only way we can answer your post is to see photos of your body type.

There are some differences in Figure and Bodybuilding physiques in the early levels but not alot. The mind set will determine what you want to compete in. From there go on to develop that body.

Welcome to the lounge dear.

Thanks. I went into my profile when I first signed up for the site and put a profile picture on there, and it shows when I am in my profile, but I can't get it to show up in the forum. I currently live and train in a small town in Nova Scotia. As for mind set, I don't think that I am ready for body building, kind of why I was leaning towards figure. I don't know if you went into my profile if it would even show the picture

well it was mutual to a degree.. but in a way if you want to say for argument sake, she broke up with me..

oh and we were engaged.. 2 yrs..

im not ready to engage in any serious relationship right now, im just curious as to what you ladies have to say.. the reason im asking is because this girl really likes me and i like her also, but i dont want to hurt the girl in any way shape or form, she knows my condition and is willing to weight it out.. what should i do? i like her but at this point all i can do is offer friendship.. yes we had sex already.

I agree with 69.

You have been in a long term relationship for 2 years. I think you need to take some YOU time. If you have told this other girl your circumstances and she's ok with it, then keep it casual, if your finding she's pressuring you it won't work out, just my 2 cc's. No reason why you can't go out and have fun :)

if it was a mutual separation then you should be able to date whenever you feel ready, but don't expect and wonderful serious relationship if you still havn't 100% gotten over the thoughts of what you HAD, and that is what i mean when i say ready. But as long as your moving forward in your life then your not moving backwards. You should be number one in your head and you should do whatever it is you want, no matter what that entails, be it finding a friend that can offer benefits and may turn into more when the time comes. I hope this helped!

Long over due update.....I'm hanging in here girls. 3 1/2 weeks till Mississauga. Abs are good, quads are holding water and upper hams are not tightening up. Post menopause is making this much harder then dieting down in 07 for Nationals. My suit is here and I'm so loving being able to wear an underwire in Figure. There is a pic of it on facebook.

Today I'm at 120 lbs (started at 137), 5 ft 5 and 37-25-33 1/2 Delts, chest and back are great! Muscle does have memory but aged skin does not.
Today I was really hungry....grrrrrr Not liking low carbs. Missing yogurt and grapes!

This July I'm becoming a grandma! Yep...the oldest daughter in Florida is expecting. Her shower is the same weekend as Provincials... :( I'll be there then and again in July. Looking lean and hot as the GMa on a Florida beach cant be beat.

Hope to see as many of you at the show.

I think my prep is tough. Im 21 years old, got test through the roof, and have no hormonal issues or aged skin. For your age (which i might add is not OLD and is unbelievable considering how you look) it is abut 3 times more difficult considering the hurdles you must jump.
