Gear in Microwave

I've heard of guys throwing a vial in the microwave as opposed to heating it on the stove, and I was wondering if anyone could chime in on it.

I've never thought to do it because of the little metal bit on the top and figured it would spark like hell or something.

Naw, it's fine. I nuke my vials for a good 10-15 seconds so the oil goes through the 25 guage easier. No sparks :)

How long would you nuke it if you were worried about purity? I had a vial with a loose top, got a whatman and filtered it into a new vial... but I'm still a little nervous.

I hear about it all the time Larry, I personally have never had to do it and don't know if I ever would. Tough call man, I'll wait for some other people to chime in I'm curious about this as well. Sorry I can't help ya

With a microwave there's no way to tell what temp it's at so I don't see how that would work..every microwave is different.

I already filtered it through a whatman into a brand new sterile vial.... just a lil nervous about putting it into my body... I'm sure all's well though

Why not just run it under hot water?

i put enough water in a coffee cup so about half the vial can sit in it, then microwave the water for 1:30, then just set the vial in the boiling water while i prep the injection (rubbing alcohol, get the needles ready and stuff) by that time its hot enough(like 40 seconds)

Take a cup of HOT tap water and sit the vial in it for 3 min. Careful not to fill the cup to full that it tips over in it.

For amp..I would float them in a cup of HOT tap water too for a few min.

Who walks around the house with vials and amps if they live with others?

IMO oil of body temp goes smoother and is easier to draw.

yeah, for injection ease, i just run the vial under hot tap water. heats it up real good. no use fing around with a microwave.
sterilizatipon technique, well, the oven method is well documented. microwaving is an experiment IMO

Does warming the oil reduce post injection pain or is this just a way of making it less effort to inject?

it will be easier to inject, will disperse better into the muscle, and i believe will be removed by the body quicker.
also if gear is somewhat crashed, will dissolve any crystals...maybe..... jury is out on that one lol

Wants to make sure his shite is sterile after his top was compromised...heatin in the stove will increase oil temp to 212ºF or whatever you want it (~100ºC) and get rid of nasty bact..., but will the MICRO do the same?!

Or am I just FCUKED in my interpretation...Larry?

I think microwave is overkill if you're going to heat 10ml of liquid. A difference of seconds in cooking time will result in tens of degrees in your oil and correct me if I'm wrong, but this could destroy the hormone in it.

In terms of Inj Prep, I just prepare all as I would normally and lay the preloaded inj in my electric blanket for about 10 minutes.

By the time I am ready, it's good to go!

I used to Nuke it prior to, yet as others have mentioned... A Microwave is inconsistant, therefore.. I opted for the Elec Blanket.. Also, I find the elec blanket (no more then 2 feet long by 1 foot wide) works well for prepping the muscle for the inj.

i always cringe when it comes to nuking gear.
#1, radiation is bad
#2, nuking for injection ease...what if you heat the shit up to a couple hundred degrees by accident or something and then you blast it into your ass or quad? i am sure someone somewhere has or will end up doing that. small amounts of liquid can superheat super fast
