My girlfriend went to go dark with her hair........ she's had died blonde for years........... her stylist told her she had to go black.......then coloured...... this was against my girlfriends wishes...........

long story short........... girlfriend is crying in the salon...... the drive home....... in the bathroom.............. she says that her hair is fried......

what can be done?

is there an excellent place where I can take her to get it redone or is it too late?

Once hair has been fried theres really nothing she could do to reverse the damage. The best thing she could do is cut it and hope it grows back healthy. A second option is to use deep conditioner, which won't completely reverse the damage. Tell the poor girls she's pretty not matter what, it always helps.

she says that her hair is fried......

What do you mean by "fried"? did they chemically burn her hair? or is it a figure of speech because she really didn't like it?

Usually if it is a darker die over a blond color, not much bleach should be needed, if at all.

Gotta agree with that one. Something about when they dye it that black, it's pretty hot.

Does it feel like straw? Is it just the ends, or right from the scalp? Sounds like they ruined it. Take her back to the salon and show the manager the damage. The best they can do is to give it a treatment conditioning, maybe apply a gloss, but if it's really bad, she may have to cut off the damaged ends.....

good luck

same thing happen to a good friend of mine, she would die her hair all the time she ended up frying it , she had to get some of it cut off. shes probably freaking out now, just remind her its gonna grow, theres not much else you can do.

boys just called my mom (been a hair stylist for over 30yrs/ owned a few shops)

she said go back to salon.....speak to manager ...tell them this was against her wishes.

ask for advice ...they will likily cut ends off and provide a professional strength deep conditioner to help build integrity of hair (whatever that means).

tell them they are covering all product and labour costs involved or u will write a letter to the editor of the local paper detailing the issue. This usually tkae managers notice as it can hurt business immediately.

I dye my hair constantly different colors for season and competing.

I usually keep it red, but have dyed it black from a very strawberry blonde color.
Going black is the hardest color to get out when wanting to go to a different color. It's going to take a couple of times to get it to a different color at all.

But, I find it odd that it's fried. Usually going a darker color there's less ammonia used if any to create such a result.

She needs to be patient...and keep telling her she looks awesome. It took me some time to get use to my black hair from red.

If it was against her wishes; she needs to go back to the salon and tell her an honest opinion. Any upstanding salon would want to keep there integrity and uphold their name at all costs. Most would probably work with her to make her happy...once!

Hope it works out for her.
