I'm trying to put my home gym together and I'm looking for some rubber mats. They can get pretty damn expensive if bought from fitness stores. Canadian Tire has some foam mats but they're crap.

Anyone know a good place to search for them? I live close to Toronto so if you know a place around here that would be even better.

What do you guys use for your home gyms?

I would definately not look at a retail outlet, try and find a local commercial construction company to supply or even check a re-usable/recycle building supply centre that sells stuff from tearouts and demolitions.

That would depend on whether you got them before or after the horse.

I got mine from Fitness Source. They also installed them for $75 (800sq'). Man was the owner pissed. Took 2 guys most of the day to put them in. They are like 3/4" thick made from recycled tires and are a bitch to cut. Got me a deal! This was like 5yrs ago.

I had built a home gym in a friends house and used those same mats. They smell like you have a room full of tires!

I can find mats anywhere for about $75 each, which is expensive if I need at least 3. I'm still going to look around to find something used.

Try some hardware stores. I know some here sell for putting them on cement stairs outside in the winter and they are about the same thing. May be cheaper. When I bought mine, it was about $70 ish each. Be ready to get some help carrying them. They are super inconvenient to lift by yourself.

That price beats 75 bucks a piece.
