Boo
The word "Halloween" originates form the Catholic Church as a corruption of "All Hallows Eve". November the first is a Catholic day of observance in honour of saints, named "All Hollows Day" (or All Saints Day). In the fifth century BC in Celtic Ireland, Summer officially ended on 31st October.
On 31st October, the disembodied spirits of all those who had died throughout the preceding year would come back in search of living bodies to possess for the next year. It was believed that it was their only hope for the afterlife. The Celts believed all laws of space and time were suspended during this time, allowing the spirit world to intermingle with the living.
Naturally, the living did not want to be possessed, so on the night of 31st October, villagers would extinguish the fires in their homes to make them cold and undesirable. They would then dress up in all kinds of ghoulish costumes and noisily parade around the village, being as destructive as possible in order to frighten away spirits looking for bodies to possess.
Maybe a better explanation of why the Celts put out their fires was not to discourage spirit possessions, but so that all the Celtic tribes could relight their fires from a common source, the Druidic fire that was kept burning in the middle of Ireland, at Usinach.

Bed Sheets
An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a
series of tests, the last of which had left his
bodily systems extremely upset.
Upon making several false alarm trips to the
bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another
and stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with
diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to
remain rational.
In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of
bed, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out
the hospital window.
A drunk was walking by the hospital when the
sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cursing,
and swinging his arms violently trying to get the
unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled
sheets in a tangled pile at his feet.
As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet,
staring down at the sheets, a hospital security
guard, (barely containing his (laughter), and who
had watched the whole incident, walked up and asked,
'What the heck is going on here?'
The drunk, still staring down replied: 'I think I
just beat the shit out of a ghost.'

I love to go out with my kids and collect candy.
Just to see the smile on their little eyes is worth knocking on door to door, confronting the cold and rain.
HH everyone!

I'll be the brave one and show off my Halloween gig.

Dara, the one pictured with me in the second picture is in her 9th month of pregnancy and wanted to have some fun with it, so she decided to dress like a man and was looking for a guy to dress as a woman. So, we decided to be trailer trash, and this is the result.
I shaved my legs, painted my toenails and fingernails, put on lipstick, stuffed a 42DD bra full, found some clothes at walmart, cut down a long jean skirt to a short one, bought a wig, put on mascara, and went to work this morning.
Oh...Did I mention that I was wearing a thong?
http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr54/theterminatormatt/thong.jpg
That's a real effort on a Halloween costume, not some premade crap that they sell these days.
And since I've probably made everyone want to gouge their eyes out, I'll make up for it.
We came up with this at work yesterday, I drew it out from a MJ Thriller pic I found online, and carved it out after that. Yup, nothing like a Jacko'Lantern.
