What language do you think in?

I speak only english so I think in english. I'm curious to know those who speak other languages, if you think in other languages.

Especially those who have a different mother tongue than english. Do you think in your mother tongue or in english?

I think in english, but when I speak french I think in french. It's too much work to translate in your head, much better to be able to think in both

I'm from Quebec but I lived in K-town for 4 years. Now I'm back in qc and my thought pattern is seriously ****ed up. Sometime I think about semantics only rather than words, which leaves me looking for a word when I'm talking. Some other times, my mind will randomly switch between English and French... messed up. I hope it fixes itself soon(unlikely to happen with my bilingual lifestyle)

Mother tongue was Gujarati, but I think mostly in English and French. Because I work in a French/English environment, I find my thought process flips between the two.

I can speak English and French. Understand Gujarati (miserable time speaking it) and now I have a simple command of Hindi (thanks to my imported Wife).

English and then have fun thinking/speaking in French. Now I'm learning Ojibwa and its a very tough language to learn at my advanced age.

I speak both French and English very fluently. French is my first language but since I teach English I can think in both languages pretty easily. I've been reading English books mostly for the last 20 years, so my French writing is suffering. I always try to improve my skills in both languages.
