Man arrested in steroid-sale sting
Victoria police have seized several types of steroids and other products following a lengthy investigation into activities at Your Vitamin Store in the Mayfair Shopping Centre.

Undercover officers made numerous purchases of anabolic steroids at the store, police said.

The steroids were called M1Ts and were sold in bottles of 80 capsules costing $109.95.

Police said the product contains a controlled substance, as defined by the Controlled Drug and Substances Act of Canada.

Police later executed a search warrant at the store and have forwarded details of what was seized to Health Canada as part of the investigation.

A 33-year-old Victoria man is facing six counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, as well as one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Old news, at least from those in the know. They've been selling that stuff to almost anyone who asks for about 2 years. I can't say who I found this out from, but they;re very trusted by me.

Same, always wanted to walk by and ask if the had some, and then tell them that they're dumbasses for giving it to just anyone. I've heard of young teens buying it from there as well.

Hahaha, that's wicked. "Come on honey, after I grab my M1T let's run over to the food court and get lunch, then next door to Toys R Us for Junior.

You're wrong. Entrapment would be if they (cops) walked up to you and offered to sell you drugs.

that's to much for something as minor as gear, it's far from bad. i knew a person in Burlington , Ont. that was also getting from a health store. i guess those are the hot spots.

It's sad. Wasted money investigating something so small. If dude gets any time, more money to keep him in jail. When it's all said, and done, it's gonna be hella amount of money, for M1T. (>.<)

With the Olympics coming, it's gonna be interesting to see if bs like this increases.

There's really something wrong when anyone, any age, can score whatever rec drug they want w/ little to no effort. Everything is so twisted. :\

This sounds like a competitor ratted him out. They wouldn't go out and investigate this out of the blue unless there was a complaint (rat) and they are forced to act on it.

too find that out all he has to do is ask for the Particulars ...that will tell him everything about the case except the name and adress of the informant..it will tell you what was said, when it was said, what time it was bought, how much was bought..pretty much everything leading up to the arrest and siezure of goods at the adress on the search warrant....

Ok who cares about some store gettin busted for M1t's. The more forums that blabber on and on about such a tiny pathetic bust, the more tips and clues that the pigs and cocksucker narcs pick up on. And believe me there are a handfull of them in every bodybuilding forum.

Its stupid the police would waste time investigating something like that, but at the same time I'm glad those things are off the shelves. People who know how to use them should have access, everyone else should just bugger off.

good i hope they fine that guy a tonne ****ing asshole selling that shit to kids

Here's the issue.. The owner sold M1T's to a ****ing 15 year old, and the kid's parents caught wind of it and called the 5-0. The owner had a VERY firm warning a few months ago, yet still continued to sell them.

Had he been more selective with who he was dealing with, this never would have been an issue. The problem is that when CHILDREN are getting their hands on illegal products (whether it's M1T's or crack, it's still a controlled substance) and the 5-0 do nothing about it, it makes them look like they're lazy and not doing their job.. They have a public image to uphold, plain and simple. Thus, the store got popped..

Not sure of Burlington, but imo, theres one im all cities, i know hamilton was bad as well... and the owner was told ALL the time, to smarten up. Dont know what happened but , dont even has to be gear, Some health stores, sell other things that are illegal, grey market you could say and , if you dont' know the customer, it's insane to sell..... No matter what.. i'm sure health stores are hard to keep a float, but this dude was selling to kids??? man, that's BS, just for a few bucks they risk there store..

No but talking about how other "vitamin" stores gettin busted in the past just points them in that direction all the time, and sooner or later they will be busting more than just M1t's.

Haha.. the exact same thing happened in Kingston were the owner of a health food store sold M1T to a teenager. The teens parents found out and called the police.

This started an investigation, after about three months of investigation; they raided the store and residence. They found many m1ts as well as many mexican vet steroids.

alot of you dont know the whole story in this case. This guy wouldnt have even had the cops sniff him out if he had used his pee sized brain better.

How this entire thing got started was he sold M1T to a 15 yr old kid. He went home his mommy found it, and called police after researching it on the internet. The kids parents pushed for this guy to be charged, the cops didnt have a choice. They didnt watch him very long, and didnt spend nearly the thousands of dollars you guys think they did.

Also instead of this prick taking what he was charged with like a man, he sung like a bird. ratting out his suppliers, and numerous big chain stores.
So if there are any reflex, popeyes, fuel, your gym bag, owners on this site that have stores in BC and alberta, and u sell this stuff behind the counter. you would be wise to settle down for a while as this **** ratted everyone out!!!!!!!!!!!!

crap just noticed flexy beat me to the stpry

BolicPower

Yes, the store owners know.. But the grey market products are one of the few things that actually have a decent margin attached to them. If every supplement store sold nothing but 'legal' products they'd all go tits-up within a month. Good point, people have to eat! So what, they sell grey things, but to kids is wrong, i belive most store owners feel out clients better then that person did,. Most stores i've been to have US products, thats not legal but they need this stuff to make a living.

The owners of the SVN Canada in North Vancouver, British Columbia were arrested for allegedly selling the anabolic steroid methyl-1-testosterone (M1T) to teenagers. The arrest comes less than a week after an employee of ‘Your Vitamin Store’ (YVS Victoria) in nearby Victoria, British Columbia was also arrested for selling M1T. Charges in both cases involved trafficking and possession of a controlled substance (anabolic steroids) (”North Van RCMP arrest nutrition shop owners for alleged steroid sales to teens,” October 20).

Const. Marlene Morton said “a substantial amount” of a bodybuilding drug called Methyl-1-Testosterone was seized from Lower Lonsdale area shop SVN Canada, following a year-long investigation.

The store’s owners, Joao Melo, 28, and Sylvie Tran, 26, of North Vancouver, have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and further charges are pending, Morton said.

Health Canada issued a warning in April 2006 advising all consumers that M1T was an illegal anabolic steroid. The recent steroid arrests may be the beginning of a crackdown on illicit performance enhancing drugs in advance of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
