If you have seen this yet check it out. This is the interview with Dion from CTV. People have to be crazy to want this guy running our country.

For those that want unbiased coverage of the campaigns I would suggest you watch CPAC. You get to see the reality before it is filtered by the press.

Heard that on the radio this morning. Just what we need to lead us into the abyss.

Even the official excuses are lame. In the media age, where people can actually see the footage for themselves, do they really think people are going to buy this crap.

The liberals don't get it. You put a puppet candidate who looks good and is well spoken forward and have someone else tell him what to think... even americans got that...
I can't belive what anyone see's in dion, not a learder at all. What pisses me off even more is When Bob Rae opens his mouth what a jerk off. He put Ontario into such a huge deficit when he was premier.

Bob Rea and Ignatchef both have the knives out. But should Dion keep the # of seats he has, Dion will probably hold on to the Liberal leadership. Good for Harper! Dion is only getting anti-harper votes, nobody is actually wanting Dion, they tend to punish parties in power when the economy goes to shit. Canadians don't realize how good our economy is compared to other G8 nations.

Don't forget though that Bob Rae was also victim of circumstance like Harper is now. Both were hit with economic problems that were not directly of their creating, especially in Harper's case, but they received them blame.
When things are bad the government gets too much blame and when things are going good they get too much credit.
As for the interview I have to admit the question confused me for a bit, but Dion was over thinking the question and his answer.
His English skills leave something to be desired, but let's not confuse leadership with being autocratic and dictatorial .
People need to realize their is little any government can do in a market economy. Recessions are part of the business cycle, but the best way to prevent them is with sound economic and monetary policies.
The middle class is going to bear most of the hardships in Canada for a crisis caused through a financial services industry which is originally designed to lubricate the "real" economy, but has supplanted this function instead for a role where short selling, momentum trading, and speculation is used to generate massive profits for a political and economic elite.
As for our economy being "good" I would disagree. For decades our low dollar shielded us from the plain fact our industry is unproductive, lacks efficiency, and more important is devoid of innovation. Instead of investing to drive economic growth we rely upon cheap credit and a cycle of consumption that is not sustainable.
Dion is intelligent and book smart, much like Harper, but both fail to connect to voters in a way that Obama can (though he is short on details).
We have to face the fact that no "leader" has a clear and articulated vision. This is the nature of our demagogic system where a candidate is told to resign for even questioning the way immigration is occurring like how the Tory candidate in Calgary did.

wow! he even makes McCain look smart in this video :D
I will not be quick to judge him though because, frankly, I have not yet seen enough of mishaps on his part. He will still gets the votes of the people that always vote liberal regardless who is piloting the plane.

I do agree with them both being a victem of circumstance. But Liberals and NDP generally have the same goal. More equal distribution of the countries wealth. It can only really work in a perfect world where everyone is willing to get up and put in an honest days work. I'am completly against government handouts of anykind although there are people who do actually need help. Unfortunatly these are not always the people collecting the money. I see this everyday, I manage several apartment buildings in lower income areas and most people on government assistance do not need it and are just plain lazy. It really upsets me when I see a young man my age collecting welfare drinking at 10am when hes perfectly capable of being out in the workforce. It's human nature to be lazy so I don't beleive socalism can ever work in the long run. I think people have to take full responsibilty for themselves not be treated as children by the government. Governments should be run as small and cheaply as possible, not as large and innefficient as possible like they are presently. Also on a side note I think all of the candidates are huge douche bags, some more then others.
Dion was a terrible pick to lead the Liberal party.

That's the understatement of the year!!!
As a French-Canadian myself, I am ashamed sometimes when I watch him ... what a bad selection, I don't know for the rest of Canada but here in Quebec Dion is not really appreciated. No I,m not voting for the BQ and don't get me started on that, I could rant all night long about it ...
BTW If Dion is that "intelligent", how come he can't speak English decently? Harper and Layton learned to be decent in French in about 2-3 years, Dion has been with the Libs for many years now and can't even reach a "decent" level in English.

If it was Harper that messed up it would be on a 24 hour loop on CBC.

IMHO, Harper's and Layton's French is every bit as bad as Dion's English :D

Layton is from Montreal and Harper would have learned French as a kid in Ontario. Dion needs to improve his English but he stood up to French nationalists in a way Harper would never.

Honestly though, IMHO, Dion's English is not THAT bad. I mean you can comprehend a good 90% of what he says. He does sound like an idiot though with his accent, which is a shame. It is the same for everyone else. Take a highly book smart person like Harper or an intelligent person like Arnold and when you hear their accents when they don't speak their native language, suddenly they sound like morons.

I know he did, but in doing so, he made himself so many enemies that it is almost impossible for him now to get seriously considered in Quebec. Here he comes off as arrogant and condescending, there seems to be nothing he can do to make this perception go away. It's not that I hate the guy, he has some good ideas but the stigma is too strong, even for a pro-Canada Quebecers like me ...

Dion does suffer from the Judas label here. However he is a stronger federalist than Harper and his soft nationalism. Either way there is an entire class of political elite that take joy in these games without real considerations for the masses.
Layton has no clue about economics, Stephan can't communicate, and Harper does not know what conservatism is about.
I have a feeling we are about to get ****ed but this time we are tied up only to discover in horror what we thought was the hottest lady in the bar turns out to be packing sausage that craves gravy.
