I've got $1million. Paying $42.50/month. As for piss tests, blah... I've had tests done within weeks of 'roid use. They don't test for those. Why would they? 99.99% of the population don't juice and I bet the tests would cost them too much $$$. They are looking for nicotine, blood sugars, heart attack biomarkers (they can detect if you've had even a minor one), and the basic hard drugs (coke, heroin, meth). Pot i'm not sure about.
They simply don't want you (significant other actually) to collect the policy upon your untimely demise. They also don't pay out if you die while @ war, parachuting, race cars/bikes, snapping of the bungee cord, you get the idea.
so your saying it has to be a slow painful death to collect?

Term life would be your cheapest option at this point, as long as you are healthy and under 50. Personally, I do not see the need to carry that much insurance. Get enough to cover the house and your kids college education. With the house paid for one income should suffice for day to day expenses.

No, just not a early death from doing something reckless.

Go term definately!! Do not let them talk you into any whole life, universal life or any policy with a forced savings portion on it no matter how hard they sell it. I was in insurance and your money is better invested in a proven mutual fund or some other money investiment option.
Yeah I got the cheapest possible one I forget which it is, its a 10 year re-newable policy 250,000 coverage for me or my wife. Only costs like $18 per month.

I am of the same attitude as you, but most are not. The point was, cover the large life expense to ease the pressure, not go for a lottery win.
