Anyone tried either with any success? Biotest has an article that adding a few grams of Leucine to a meal, high protein or not-so-high protein, increases muscle protein synthesis by 50-70 percent in humans and increases protein turnover by over 500 percent.

It is promoting their bulk leucine product.

Thoughts?????

Didn`t read the article but those numbers stated seem kinda high. Personally had good results using a BCAA product, just plain powder with a 1:2:2 typical ratio. I give it the thumbs up. Maybe I`ll take a look at the article on y old t-nation and see.

I think you mean 2:1:1?

Yes as you said! Just read the article, and could be worth a try and wouldnt`cost very much. Say you use 20 grams a day as they suggest one pound of leucine will last about 3 weeks. Checked the price and as usual it`s nearly twice the price for Biotest as any other brand out there... Don`t be a sucker guys.

I used BCAA in big doses and it worked very well. The reason I stopped using them is because whenever I go and order something on these sites, I always end up spending 3x`s the amount I was planing on... Just keeping it simple these days with protein, creatine and vitamins basically. I encourage anyone to give the leucine run a go. It simply requires you dumping some leucine in an empty vitamin bottle ( I think we all have lots of damn near empty bottles with 3 or 4 pills rattling the bottom...) and a measuring spoon inside keept near us at all times. Isn`t that what fanny packs are for? Then as the article says "you will nearly hear the bricks of muscle being formed on your body" or something like that.
