It's not too bad thanks...just have limited range in supination and pronation. I tore the left side the same way a few years back...so I am familiar with the recovery process ;)

I have pics and a video of my left side surgery. I knew the surgeon doing it. I have nothing from my recent repair. The surgeon was a real mean woman...she was convinced that I had taken steroids ;)
I wish I could post a vid (it is really cool!).....anyhow here are some pics

Hey bro did you get the tendon sutured to a titanium anchor or was it done another method? When you say you'll be starting up again in two weeks,is that full out or when you're just starting back up lightly? Also did you get fixed right away or did you wait till after show,as I know the longer you wait the longer the rehab time frame is. Sorry for the all the questions but I'm at almost 9 nine weeks post-op and I've just started range of motion therapy and just kinda wanted to know what to expect. Thanks bro I haven't been able to grill anybody about the injury cause it happens so rarely.

In terms of getting the pics and video taken during surgery---I am in the field and a friend of mine did the surgery (the first time).

Jimmy,
The surgery you see in the pics was from my left arm (done in Feb 2006), it used anchors--tore the bicep on a Sunday and had surgery on the following Wednesday (3 days post injury). One cut made on the front of the arm.

My current (right) arm- I was in surgery 5 days post injury (I went into denial). It was soooo bad looking that all my friends laughed at my arm. Nonetheless, I went in and had it fixed immediately. This surgery intailed 2 incisions and wrapping the tendon around the radius and "stuffing" it into a groove notched into the radius. This is apparently a very strong repair---the tendon was a mess (like broken violin strings---according to the surgeon). So I am coming back carefully. I started ROM physio after week 1......I am now at full range of motion in passive flexion and active extension---but only about 75% in passive pronation and 20% in passive supination. I can start light active stuff in 2 weeks (I am at week 10 post op).

With my first repair I was lifting heavy and normally by 7months post op.
I hope I can do the same with this one! Good luck with yours bro!

Ya I got the same procedure done as your first one.Only problem is I still did my show and ended up getting it fixed 4 weeks after it happened. So the tendon had already started to attach itself and the surgeon actually had to cut it away and it had already looked like spaghetti. So I got told off pretty good by the doctor.Doc said same to me about taking it much slower then normal because the tendon was so frayed but at least I was finally able to rid myself of the rom brace this week. But it looks as though I'm about a week behind ya so sorry in advance if I bombard ya with questions over the next while. Thanks alot brother.
