View Full Version : clothing
I just came back from another failed attempt at finding decent clothes. Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice clothes out there, but they're all ****ing made for toothpicks or obese fatasses. Whenever I find something that fits my shoulders and neck decently, it looks like I'm wearing a poncho around the waist and I'm not even that big. Seems like I'm gonna have to spend a friggin fortune to get custom made clothes and it pisses me off /rant

Custom clothing is not really that much more expensive.

I wear Italian clothes and they fit great. But then I'm not "big" anymore and if I put on some serious size i'd be stuck. A lot of my clothes are tapered so I don't get the dress effect. check out www.yoox.com
I don't shop for North American clothes, as you've said you'd better be a fatass.

My biggest problem is finding jeans that will facilitate the wheels/squaters and look hip and trendy. True religions are pretty much the ony designer denim I can fit in.
As per t-shirts, if you don't mind the douchebag factor, ed hardy, CA, affliction fit pretty good. For dress shirts, Hot-bods makes bodybuilding specific ones but they look tacky imo, I get mine custom made.

This is gonna sound funny but I dress a lot of my guy friends that bb, if your looking for trendy nice jeans I suggest Mavi Matt it is wide in the leg for a normal guy but good for a bber AND still nice and looks good on the bum :). There is also lots of nice Silver jeans for male bbers too, just make sure you tell the sales kid you need a wide leg and they should know exactly what to show you. Keep in mind these two brands run about $90 - $100/pair but well worth it!!

yea, no more of that for me. economy just sucks here and time to hoard cash. yoox does blow end of season stuff at 50-60% off. got a great pair of cycle jeans last year for $55. problem is i was super lean when i got them and they don't fit my fatter ass at the moment..:(

if i want decent clothes, i have to go to Big and Tall and have them custom fit for my body.. but on a day to day basis, i just wear baggy sweats, its easier but the style isn't all that great.. i heard someone speak of a clothing line specifically designed just for bodybuilders i wish i knew the name, its very fashionable as well..
p.s. affliction t-shits rock!! but 1 shirt will run you $100

where would you be able to find these? just at your local mall? cause i live in a shitty little city with a shitty mall.. i need to get my ass to Toronto..
I know about hotbodz (.com) They have a couple of okay shirts, but they're all pretty expensive (not that expensive, but at that price I'd rather add a little bit and have one custom made)

I went to a big and tall store once to get a x-mass gift for my uncle. Man i've never seen XXXL and even larger clothes. Almost got bowled over by this guy on his way out who was 6'9". I'm only a teeny 5'7" and man I feel for you big guys, talk about limited options clothing wise.

I'm a cheap ass..........winners......wal-mart...lol. I seem to find decent clothes, but it's usually a pain in the ass to have to try on 100 different pairs of pants and t shirts lol
It's hard to find that medium, not too tight and not baggy where you look like a clown. When I first started working out I wanted tight shirts all the time, now I can't stand them.

I'm with you on that, could care less about designer or labels, unless they are 70-80% off!
Winners has outfitted many of my cloths, just have to set aside alot of time and hunt. I buy bigger dress shirts and pants to fit my legs and then go to the tailor and have them make alterations so they fit the way I like.

All I have is drawers of Metal T-shirts and Hoodies and jeans. I try stick with the carhardt and other work style stuff that lasts a long time. I hate that pre-worn out looking shit. I want well built cloths that last. If you're too lazy to break in you own clothes you should go play in traffic.

I hear ya Seth! I've said the same thing about the toothpicks. I had to pay 100$ for a pair of jeans, which in my opinion is too much money for denim. I had to tell the girl that I have bigger legs than the average schmuck and she ended up grabbing me 3 or 4 pairs of jeans that would actually fit my squatters ass.

Agreed! I end up walking out with a few nice things, but also with a bigger bill than I anticipated.

Sometimes I wish i had my own personal homosexual to go shopping with me (queer eye for the STRAIGHT guy style). Gay dudes give the best haircuts/choose the best outfits.
ya when i started bodybuilding i anticipated paying for steroids and food but not having to buy new clothes. It sucks cause 70 percent of my work clothes for an office environment now don't fit right at all.

i found all my dress shirts before cycle were a bit loose, thats cause i had to wear 17+ neck size from rugby... now they all fit nice and snug without being too faggy tight..either way hopefully ill have to update the wardrobe after this cycle
on another note ive had to go from a 32 to a 36 waist size cause of the increase in tight/ass size, now i only have 1 pair of jeans that fits everything else is suuuuuuuuuuuuuper tight :S
