Curious about any oral that would shut down estrogen in women for good. Let me paint a picture;
Perimenopausal female who has developed fibroid tumors (beign) and is having major pain most days elevated during frequent menstration. She wants to speed the process of menopause and doctor has indicated estrogen as the culprit for fibroids and they will dissapear when estrogen is eliminated.
So what would be the most appropriate oral or injectable to shut down estrogen and how long do you think there would be a need to run??

I'm no MD so take what I say with a grain of salt, but i've found Letrozole/Femara at a dose of 2.5 daily to be a winner at estrogen depletion. If it would be safe to double the dose for women, then i'd go with it hands down over any other Anti-Estrogen. That's just based on my experience with Nolva, Clomid, and Letro taken individually to combat gyno. Letro won hands down.

This is not an area you want to start experimenting with. Guys have test/est. ratio and that's it. Women have estrogen/progesterone/dhea/estradiol/test and I'm sure there's more. Hormonally they are simply much more complicated.

you are bang on here, ethical issue.
When she asked her doc if there was a pill she could take he said yes, but he would not be able to perscribe.

Then ask another doc, preferably a woman.

If you are in the GTA there is a great doc who specializes and is the expert in women's issues. Guy is on TV all the time and has written a few books.

she'll have to pay though, he's so busy and old (75+) that he charges to keep the volume down.
