BJ is set to take on our boy GSP for the welterweight title. Should be an awesome fight, I think GSP is to much for BJ to handle. Im thinking 4th round by TKO.

Gonna be a great fight. They are pretty evenly matched skill wise. BJ is slightly better in submissions and St Pierre a slightly better striker. Last time I thought it was too close to call and this time I still don't know whos gonna end up winning.

I would like to say GSP as I think he is overwelming when his game is one and he is very active on the ground plus he has matured as a fighter since their last meeting. Every fight I have seen Penn is he seems to come up with the submission or decision cause he wears down and frustrates his opponents. That said BJ is a slippery little ****er and after all it is a fight, anything can happen.

GSP all the way! BUT if he fight with is big ego against bj like he did with Fitch then hes in deep shit.

i think gsp is more rounded now and stronger than b4,still close fight but gsp should win.

IMO GSP will win the fight..GSP gets better with every fight and BJ hasnt fought a guy as good as GSP in along time..BJ is in for a shock..BJ is a good fighter but not as good as GSP..NO WAY

GSP's wrestling is the best for mma and his striking is much more dynamic then penns, penn is no doubt top 5 but I dont think hes got what it takes to beat gsp

gsp's takedowns will be the deciding factor, that and penns horrible cardio.

BJ has to put on about 20 lbs for this fight ... Can he come in as conditioned as GSP ..NO..

BJ just might be the most naturally gifted of the smaller fighters, and GSP just might be the hardest worker. If BJ is motivated and comes in top condition, it could be very close. You can pretty much count on GSP coming in at his best, he seems to improve after every fight. If BJ comes in at anything less than his best, then, I think GSP will beat him soundly.

Like Gordi said, BJ is a gifted fighter with lots of talent, never count him out. He is a lot more determined now and has his head straight unlike before where he use to party too much and not train. I do believe he will be ready (cardio and all) come fight night, and St Pierre will have to be at his best, better than ever before to win.

Big ego? The last thing GSP has is a big ego. He is the most humble fighter in the UFC. I have 2 friends that met him on two different occasions and both said he was a very humble and respectful guy, even to the fans. He ****in destroyed Fitch, in every round, and in every aspect. What fight were you watching? HE did the same thing to Penn in thier first meeting except he was leaving his hands down hence why he was getting popped in the face so much by Penn, but other than that, he was all over BJ.

I think GSP will win, when i hear BJ has to put on weight, imo he is also the very few to mess up Gsp, GSP said him self (when we talked in Montreal) he thought he was going get k/o'd, but rd 2 was his extra win and 3 was all him, i think BJ HAS to be in top shape and he is the only few out there that causes a threat.

GSP no doubt about.

Interesting side note, GSP just signed with CAA, one of the largest athlete agencies on the planet. http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=7281&zoneid=2

Very frightening I would assume, and it should be. GSP has always said that he likes the UFC and doesnt wanna fight anywhere else, but those are some very powerful people backing him.

Link not working for me. :(

I think it will go a lot like the last one unless Penn gasses.

I would like to see penn come in good shape and GSP dominate, that would be sweet.

That was an insurance move on GSP's part. When you start to fade in the UFC, Dana White turns his back on you, and leaves you with nothing. He's a heartless prick. So the ball will always be in GSP's court now, I'm sure you will see alot of the top talent in the UFC start to do this. Politics are starting to snowball in MMA now, just like boxing.

BJ is a better fighter at the lighter weight. But because he has to fight 20lbs heavier,I think that is going to slow him down and GSP will take the victory.

That footage of Rush doing plymotrics is INSANE. I know it's a pretty obvious thing to say, but St.-Pierre is truly one of the most amazing athletes our country has ever produced.

Was that Crow Loiseau doing the rope pulls? It's hard to tell for sure in that footage.

totally agree......I would have to pick GSP for this fight although it will probably be a fairly close fight.....either way it should be an awsome match up

I'm a BIG GSP supporter.. First class athlete!

Although not as highly tiered as say, #99. I would go so far as to say he's as classy.

The best of luck to him in his upcoming rematch.

I dunno, GSP imo is definattly one of the best... BUT BJ, has always been my guy from many many years, as when he loses, it's due to stamina or imo fluk... IF he comes in fast and trys to Sub GSP he might do it.. if the match goes, imo gsp will out point him... but i have BJ to win.. i think the loss was hard and a rematch will redem himself, and i think he'll be training his ass off for this.. i know he'll have weight, but like in the first match, seems strikeing is BJ's game for gsp.. i'm still wondering about gsps chin.

I think the fight will probably come down to how quick Penn can or put on the size. The closer to competition he gets, the less weight he an afford to gain.

Not many people that imo can be threat to GSP but i think Penn is definatly one of them. Will be interesting.

My feeling is that Penn needs to gain the quality size ASAP. Imagine putting on a 20lbs vest and doing footwork, and just how hard it will be for him to move around.

Penn is a tough fighter but GSP's conditioning and wrestling are superior.

Now what would think of Silva and GSP?

Gsp all the way for sure bj gonna gases out.

GSP is going to blow through BJ IMO ... the first 7 minutes of the fight will be highly competitive, but BJ only looks dominant when he controls the pace and place of a fight- something he certianly wont be able to do with GSP.

Of course it wouldnt blow my mind if BJ lands a flush shot or pulls a sub out of his ass, but I see this fight resembling the second Serra fight.

GSP will respect BJs boxing and stay relativley conservative standing and will just throw a mixed bag at him and eventually pound him out from crucifix or side control IMO. Someone needs to convince BJ hes not gods gift to fighting, because if by some stroke of luck he beats GSP hes going to immediatley call out Anderson Silva which will put 3 divisions on hold to cater to BJs ego.

GSP TKO <3 rounds.

Kiem
17-12-2008, 12:35 AM
Its not gonna closely resemble anything like the Serra 2 fight. BJ is gods gift to BJJJ, LOL. Joking aside, I predicts its going 5 rounds and decision going to GSP for takedowns and GnP.

If GSP is in 100% shape, he will destroy anyone in his class. The problem, is a couple times he has come out at 95%, and then gets caught.
If in shape, the guy is a ninja!

GSP for the win.
BJ is a good fighter when he's fighting in his league at 155. His jab was excellent against Sherk and he dominated that fight. BJ has to gain 20lbs which will slow him down. We have saw this in his other fights before he dropped to 155.
GSP stays close to fighting weight all year round and therefore doesn't have to drop much weight.
Both fighters are stable on their feet. We have seen the fights where both fighters have been caught in a single leg, but are able to stay on their remaining leg to avoid the take down.
I think GSP is a smarter fighter and will dominate BJ whether it is standing or if it goes to the ground. GSP who has limited wrestling background has dominated against NCAA wrestlers.
Regardless it will be a good match, but sadly BJ will lose and drop back down to his 155 category.

I am having a hard time understanding how B (dreamer)J is going to put on 20 + pounds while training his ass off for this fight...with training and eating he will need to consume 5000 plus calories a day...he in no way will come in as good of shape as GSP...GSP is already in great shape and will not have the added pressure of making weight and being in top shape...I want BJ to have a wake up call....

Monka
05-01-2009, 09:20 PM
i think if goes past rd 2 it's more for GSP but imo rd's 1@2 will be VERY tight for GSP as i'm sure as they're dry BJ will be able to submit, or do something wacky, but if goes longer i'd have to give edge to GSp, but who knows.. 20lbs is crazy amount of weight,

Bump. Anyone have a link to this fight? I'm trying to find the thread where someone posted the site.

Edit: Nevermind, this site should hopefully work: http://www.mmahacks.com/

I hope GSP doesn't walk over Penn. I want him to eat his words for a couple rounds.
