One of, if not my favorite actor (Daniel Day Lewis) playing a ridiculously thick character. Won best actor for this role.

i'm with you on that Gus. One of my favorite characters ever. i've watched that movie 3 times and i pick up more each time.
its another movie that most of you will not care for, i guess you'll just have to keep holding out for Men In Black III.

Ya, it certainly was not a movie for the masses. Too much truth in it to face i suppose. My girl was pissed that i took her to see it. "We have not gone out to the movies for over a year and you brought me to that??" ...LMAO! It is pretty slow moving but the movie certainly shows how dark we can become as humans. I am sure most people, to some to degree or another would be able to identify with the same feelings, drives and darkness that the main character (Daniel Plainview) had....even if most would not admit it.

I thought it was just OK. It was a good job by DDL. I just did not think there was anything here we have not seen in other movies.

nice post. it's definitely a man's movie. leaning more toward the anti social behavior myself, i found it easy to identify with him. i actually chuckled out loud a few times.

Great movie, one of the few times that I enjoyed the movie much more than the book it was base on.

Haha...my girl actually asked me a couple of times what i was laughing at. "Nothin hun, just laughing at how ****ed this guy is." Meanwhile i am laughing cause i see parts of myself in him, not to the same degree of course but still I relate somewhat to his character. But hey, i am a sicko so...lol.
I liked this as well. I did watch this around the same time as I did No Country, so I wasnt as taken by it as I was by that movie. It is deffinately close on the scale. Still an awesome movie.
