Am I the only one who gets annoyed when idiots (who are usually lifting more than they can handle without adequate spotters) start dropping dumbbells?

I am beginning think that some people actually do this because of the loud sound it makes and so they feel like they are lifting really heavy weights. What ends up happening is the weights get damaged and you'll be lifting a dumbbell over your head and the plates will fall off.

I vote that we start a campaign to halt this deplorable practice. Next time you see someone doing this, politely inform them that this will damage the equipment. What you do next is up to you...

There, now I feel better!

Haha, looks like this thread back fired on the poor guy lol

You pretty much have to drop db's or else you'll really hurt yourself. The important thing though is to drop them so that they land flat.

The complaint here was not the noise!

The point is NOT TO DAMAGE THE WEIGHTS!

By dropping a dumbbell, the angular compressive force generated by the plate on the threaded retaining stem is such that the threads eventually are damaged resulting in annoyingly loose plates. Eventually the weights become unsafe to use. Obviously this is less of a concern if it is a one-piece dumbbell.

I agree with Musclehead that this issue can be avoided if the weights are dropped flat HOWEVER this can be difficult to ensure.

If you must lift more weight than you can safely put down and can't get a spotter, you can avoid damaging the weights by dropping them on a strategically placed mat.

A big fat biker came in tonight. Looked like Bambam Bigelo. Sees me fairly lean with a decent build. After doing a few absurd warm up exercises heads right to the squat rack. After a few warm up sets, he loads it up with about 5 plates a side.

Motherfvcker was deafening, only doing partial reps, then looks at me like I'm a pussy. Douches like this are the reasons why I only train at a public gym twice a week max.

you sound like an aerobics instructor !wtf angular compressive forces, ive never ruined any dumbels and ive been lifting for 25 years, most gyms have rubber mats and if they maintain their dumbells by keeping them tight then those angular compressive forces wont hurt nothing,i love the sound of banging weights its what separates gyms from health clubs

I've found that a really great way to injure my shoulders is to try to put the dumbells down carefully when doing dumbell bench press or flies.

I drop them at the end of my sets. I have better uses for my shoulder tendons thanks.

Should I wander around looking for a spotter for dumbell work?
NOT.

Excuse me sir, would you please stop sweating you're frightening the children.

No I'm sorry we used to have a rack but we replaced it with 2 elliptical trainers.

I agree 100% although its hard sometimes when you don't have headphones. Some people go out of their way to let you know that they are there.

To keep inline with the dropping dumbells discussion. It does break them when they get dropped repeatedly. Maintenance plays a big role but eventually everything breaks, dropping just speeds it up a bit. The problem I see in a busy gym with a couple idiots is broken toes. It's almost happened to me more than a couple times.

I don't mind guys setting them down hard when they have to but after working in gyms for a while it pisses me off when someone throws down a set of 45's like they are Ronnie Coleman after pressing 200's.

Just pull in your elbows and set them on your legs. You're a pretty big guy, should be easy. If not maybe work on grip strength? That's the only reason I could see for having a problem.

I don't mind people dropping db's at all. I worked at a University gym so what you guys are talking about and what I had to deal with are two different things. Like guys doing dumbell shrugs and throwing the weights down...stuff like that.

I've recently started working out at a gym again. And true to form one idiot starts banging the floor while he's deadlifting 315lb. Bang, Bang, Bang.... Arghhh a-hole! He's got 7" and 40lbs on me but I have no problem doing 315 and NOT banging. Sheeet.

While this doesn't quite fall into the a-hole catagory, dude loads up the leg press with 12 plates and does the 3" press. Then dude's friend comes over "that's crazy man!". Yup, freakin stupid too if ya ask me. Your knees must LOVE that. Not to mention the low back.

Haven't had to put up with bad BO yet, and as for ammonia... I sweat it the odd time. I just eat less protein but that doesn't always work. I think i've got to up the carbs prior to my workout so I don't burn protein for fuel (and making ammonia in the process).

BTW I love cranking the Metallica/ Judas Priest in my own gym... 90's metal....

I recently had no choice to work out at the local YMCA for 4 months and I will tell you that all those stereotypes are x10 at the Y.

I had the problem of the little kids crowding around a bench press, lifting for 1 set then talking for 20 min then deciding to go use all of the dumbbells and make me play easter egg hunt for them

I also drop the DB's. Most of the time I don't have a spotter so I can't put them down in a "controlled" fashion. Am I really worried about the noise that it makes, no. I train to get stronger and not injured. Considering most of the members pay anywhere from $500 - 900 a year I think the owners can afford to replace a DB here and there.

I see where you're coming from. I tend to drop them when doing a flat bench DB press, otherwise I don't for anything else. Personally, I don't care that much how anyone does it if they're serious about the training. Guess it's a question of are you doing it because you have to? (ie. working hard) or because you want to? (to get noticed). [not directed at you personally kawikaratekid, meant it for anyone in any gym]

The point of me writing this is that, having worked in a gym, even though you're paying your membership let's be realistic. If people are hard on the equipment (for whatever reason, good or bad) the gym is not going to rush out and try to replace equipment for every little ding and scratch. If other members put a holy beating on some DB's, not necessarily with the intent to do so, everyone will be out of luck if equipment becomes unmanageable or unreliable. There are presently DB's in my gym with warped handles that are quite unsteady which have been like that for months. It's NOT A PRIORITY to replace equipment for those who are hard on it and the only ones who suffer are those who want to use the equipment after someone else has bent the crap out of it. Gotta remember, gyms cater to the 'fitness' crowd because of money.

My feeling is, if you can pick up a weight, you can put it down. If you need to drop it, it is too heavy for you and you likely have bad form. If you are doing flat db presses or flyes put the weight back on your knees and sit up. I hate people dropping weights, most of them are wannabes. You need to control the weight not throw it around and drop it.

This just doesn't happen when you're pressing 120's +. They're going to hit the ground and hit it loud and hard. Now I'm not talking getting to the top of your press and just tossing the weights to the ground here. That's not right.

I have done the 140s on an incline. The key is to control the weight and finish at the top of the rep. Yes sometimes it is hard but it is the right way. Once in a while it is unavoidable when you go really hard. A lot of the people that drop the weights drop them every set, not just the last really heavy one. Who needs to drop the 100s, if you do, you need to go lighter.

I have lifted lots and competed lots and I am a former national champion. I could count on one hand the number of times I dropped weights.

That's what I'm saying. Sometimes it's unavoidable. If I see some 130lb kid throwing way too much weight around with crappy form then tossing the weights when he's done giving out a big yell, pisses me off. But if I see somebody who's obviously been dedicating his life to this maxing out with great form on his 11th or 12th rep on his 5th set or whatever and he happens to let 'em go, you're not going to hear me say a thing about it.

Overall it's a very touchy subject and it all comes down to the situation behind it. The gym I go to also has rubber floors so when somebody is an ass about it, it's not too loud and doesn't damage the weights.

I can incline 150's myself and manage to control them back to the ground. It's tough, but I've always enjoyed being able to do things others can't (or won't).

I mean, jeezus, I can curl the hundreds so I can't see there being a need to drop much of anything till I'm DB pressing twice what I DB curl (which should be never if I'm keeping a good balance of strength gains between all muscle groups).

I don't run into tooo many retards these days but a while back a guy made me laugh for a couple of minutes. He was doing this swimming motion with his arms in front of the mirror. It's something someone might do to stretch their arms before pressing but this guy did it for an entire 20 minutes. It didn't quite dawn on me that he was doing it for so long until I realized I finished all my squats and leg extensions and he was still there in front of the mirror.

A week later I see him doing the exact same thing. Was some short, overweight and slightly bald Asian guy.

After having initially being "Hoist by my own petard" (look it up) it would seem that there are a variety of opinions regarding the excuse-ability of dropping weights. It is obvious that dropping heavy dumbbells on there ends can be damaging to the equipment. It would also seem that it is possible for some people to lift heavy dumbbells and put them down without damaging them.

I guess it takes all kinds. Certainly some entertaining discourse...

Thanks, everyone!

what always gives me a laugh are the guys who spend many hours working their upper body, but have twigs for legs and they strut around the gym like they are carrying two cases of beer under their arms.

The guys I would like to crush are the coffee shop gym rats. You know, the ones who hang around and use all the equipment while they bullshit about how great they are. Sorry to say but noone cares how much you lift on the net. I keep track of strength gains as well but wow this thread has been a huge e-peen stroking circle jerkle.

On the topic of dropping weights, I do it sometimes in a controlled motion for flys; never really for anything else, even dumbell shrugs I can constantly set them down as if I were deadlifting. Yes i've seen the retards throw them down like real champs.

I grunt like hell on leg day if you don't like it go back to seaworld. lol
Infact I grunt on pretty much every workout, although on leg day I nearly sign a heavy metal recording contract.

edit:as for deadlifts, yeah gtfoutta here im going to gently caress the floor with it, im not letting my back break loose of the thing, but theres no way in hell that i'm going to spare focus for some guys virgin ears.

So many dicks at my gym. I think I notice it more lately, maybe it's the test.. maybe it's because I don't keep my head down anymore.. I don't know

Ok bud, I know you're so huge that you can't be bothered to even turn a little bit sideways so we can walk past eachother in the aisle and not hit shoulders...... pricks. I swear one of these times i'm just going to let them walk into me and then throw them over the railing.

YES IM THAT GUY WHO HAS THE SPORT BIKE.. NO I DONT RUN FROM COPS IM NOT COOL LIKE YOU. OR STUPID? YES, IF YOU GET CAUGHT STUNTING YOU LOSE YOUR BIKE.. BUT YOU DONT CARE BECAUSE YOU'RE THAT COOL, AND YOU'LL RUN.... RIGHT.

Look man, I know they're 40LB dumbells, and they're sooo heavy for those big shoulders that are just busting out of your stupid ass muscle shirt, but I don't need to hear you purposely slam them into the ground after you're done your 3 reps. I don't care who's funeral it is.

I am having a hard time biting my tongue these days.

Some people should understand that as with raising the weights to position to do the exersize, lowering the weights in a similar manner is building overall strength. Also a sudden release of theweight while your muscle are under tension puts severe stress on tendons and muscle fibers which may lead to injury.

This was sweet.

She walks in with her big boyfriend. She puts on her new PINK( who the frick wears pink) lifting gloves and then she walks over to the mini weights and brings back the 5 lbers. She places them beside the bench they will both use.

He sets up the incline bench. Benches 80 for a warm up. She stands there watching. Then when he moves up to the 100s she stands behind the bench like she is gonna spot him. rotflmao by then. She can't lift, hows she gonna spot?

She then gets on the bench and has no idea how to hold the weights. Hammer style she starts her presses. He grabs her hands and takes her through the motions.

If I were him, I'd would have saved the cash the pink gloves cost cause my guess is she won't be back next week with him.

1) He loads up the incline bench with about 360 pounds. He makes alot of noise as he gets ready to lift it. He lifts it, but he only pushes it up 6 inches to the top of the bar, and then back into the rests.......... HAHAHAHA. He does this for 4 sets.

2) Then he does shrugs on the machine. He loads up 6 plates a side and adds 2 more plates to the handles.. oh man. Yelling as he squats and jumps to get the weight to move. This guy was serious.

so the majority of guys at my guy are from mid east / african descent... last night some a-rab guy wearing low top tims (h core i know) starts doing neutral grip seated lat rows on the universal gym next to me... maxes it out (i think around 240-260), uses his wrist wraps around the pyramid shaped handles, and then pushes out 6 of the sorriest full body jerks ive ever seen in my life. then on the last rep he just lets go of handle and the whole weight smashes down on the machine... im surprised it didnt break...too bad the manager wasnt workoing out at the time im sure he;d give him shit.. anyways, this happends for 4 sets i just feel sorry for the machine by now

then later on i was doing bent over BB rows, and hes next to the free weights, with a 110er doing one arm bent over rows... mother****er was using a wrist wrap and his elbow wasnt even going past his back...again 4-5 reps of sorry full body jerking shit

That or "dick weights". When I started training at a gym (wearhouse) I was only 15 and that's what the big old guys called the little dumbells.

If anyone isn't clear on this a dick weight is a weight you can lift with your dick (not a weight being lifted by a dick, big difference).

Alright, so I'm at my gym yesterday morning (saturday around 10 a.m.- apparently when the mma fighters like to train as well.... maybe they're always training because they're so hardcore.... i just don't know...), and there's this guy there doing some hanging leg raises beside where i'm using an incline bench.... thought nothing of it... until.....

I go to use the decline next... there's a cage about 2 feet from where your head lays on the decline bench. Someone had just left doing military presses there, and the leg raise go asks to make sure he's done with it (nice chap i think).... As I start doing my 2nd set of decline, I notice this foot almost kicking my in the face! WTF?!?! This douche-silo, once i finish and look around, is using the cage to hold onto (like an octagon or ring i guess) and is doing these high-kneeing "moves" into the empty cage! F'n weird to start with, but on his step-back-wind-up thing he's about 6 inches from my head when i'm doin' decline bench! Grrrr!!

So I decide to wait, it looks like he's done... good... I go to do my next set, fairly heavy 5 rep set (for me), and.. Jesus F'n Christ!!!! There it is again! Apperntly he's doing "sets" of these.... both legs of course (gotta maintain symmetry)... This Cum-junkie couldn't wait 'till i was done, or maybe... I don't know.... not be a ****in' retard.... maybe even just go to one of the many fighter gyms in k-w????? grrr!!!

I'm just lucky I somehow keep my cool, especially with quitting smoking a week ago.... Jesus!! What the hell is going on in gyms today?!

you know, the guys with wrist straps every day, tap out shirts, and walk around ****ing huge, but are not 200 pounds soaking wet in a parka. They do biceps and blast off 10 sets in 10 minutes, then chest...10 in 20 this time. then back, then legs, then triceps, so on and so on and so on.... they have been over their body twice by the time I finish shoulders. Then you can see them looking around the gym, and get "reminded" of some exercise they missed, so they go bang it off.

Did shoulders/tris one day last week....50mins about. Theres this dude who's got his hair gelled back, his skin is glowing orange, you can very clearly see he does take the time to put on the protective goggles in the tan booth though. haha so mint.
He's doing seated dumbell curls, screamin real good too. Oh by the way, b/t each set he would text for 3 mins or so, still seated on his chair. So after his 8th or 9th set of seated db curls you can see his arms starting to cramp on him....so finally he gets off his ass and starts stretching his arms, swinging around, jumping a little, throwin in some shadow boxing. He's done right? NOPE. I lost track how many sets he ended up doin, somewhere in the 14-15 range. Dude did seated db curls for 50mins straight, I ended up leaving at the same time as him, trying not to laugh as he's obviously having cramping issues trying to wave to the manager on the way out and couldn't lift his arm past his waiste. He must think the longer he works bi's the sooner he'll see 15" arms bwahahahahahaah

Man the only thing that really pisses me off at the gym these days are the idiots who walk WAY to close when I am lifting, is it really that hard to plan your path to the weights you want so that you do not brush up against my elbows or the weights I am useing while I lift them. I guess the solution is to just drop the dumbells on the jerks foot next time lol. Tends to be the same guys who stand in front of the weight racks to do their curls, is it really so hard to walk 4-5 feet and then do your set so other people can actually get the weights.

Also whats with the couples fooling around with eachother in the gym? I havent noticed this in the past but I have seen it quite a bit the past few weeks, must have to do with spring or something.

today when i arrived both bench press benches were being used by idiots. one idiot was doing wrist curls, and one was sit ups....**** me

today thankfully was back day./..... i did okay, as i went and put my jacket on the one and only power rack about 10 minutes before i needed it, to keep the fags out and got immediately on the pull down first thing which was a surprise..... as over head curls are a norm at my asshole of a gym.....

powerracks are often used for curls, for knee raises, for faggoty core stability training were ****face stands on a half ball thing and then does dumbbell curls or something.

**** i am getting mad thinking about it

the only person who REALLY ****ed with me was some 140 pound dick who was bench pressing (after the wristcurler was done), a whopping 185 pounds for is body weight! but wait.... rom was about 4-5 inches...... lol

this fag cuts in front of me at the fountain, and commences to fill his faggoty assed water bottle.... like its 10 feet to the fountain, ditch the bottle you little prick....anyways, he starts to fill it....so i move in real close to the guy..... little bit roid raging at this point,.....and the dude starts looking at me in the corner of his eye, and then started shaking....and he was ****ing spilling the water everywhere.... **** that was pissing me off more, so i got closer and stared at the dick about 8 inches from his face....
yeah,l it was mean, but i was not enjoying myself today with all the guys playing around...
and if youre going to fill a ****ing water bottle at the fountain, let the guy behind you through you s.o.b.

Bump this thread for more mid summer updates!

I love it. I love when i'm doing an exercise, say DB Fly's for example.. with strict form, and some guy in a white wifebeater picks the bench beside you, to do the exact same exercise, but of course has to make sure he uses more weight than you.. and does it with completely incorrect form..one 'set'.. and then he walks off like he's king shit.

It's funny, haden't seen that guy in about 4 months.. he was bigger than me, always wore a sweater.. now I see him in a wife beater, and i'm in much better shape.. but that guy had something to prove!

Sometimes it's hard being a silverback gorilla.

this morning there was the most awful BO as I walked into the gym door. I couldn't believe how bad it was.

There should be a rule that you wash at least once in the previous 3 days walking into the gym. There is no way this guy baths more than once per month or wears deodorant, ever. To think I could smell him about 50 meters away upon entering the gym - imagine the smell when he sat down next to me while I was mid set of 1 arm dumbbell rows.

Also:

I know in another thread I complained about dropping weights on dumbbell presses. But I think I figured out why...it's not the noise, or the fact that they drop the weights. Its the typical type of people doing so:

A guy that has a spotter taking off a good 30 pound on each and every rep with 100 pound dumbbells and only manages to do 3-4 reps with 4 inch range of motion THEN drops the weight - that is what pisses me off. If you're strong enough to do 100+ for 10-12 perfect reps , then fine, drop the weight.

how's that?? the bar's gotta be at least 45lbs!

not in every gym. there are fixed weights bars that can weigh between 10 to 100+ that i've seen people take to the squat rack. Not in my current gym though but i've seen it done many times. Squat-rack curlers are between 45-75 pounds typically...

i was doing standing overhead barbell press a few weeks ago at my old gym.....finished my last rep and had the bar sitting on my clavicle.....instead of lowering the bar gently i dumped it from shoulder level......it was awesome......one of the girls from the front desk asked me why i couldnt set it down gently.....i replied "thats how I roll" and then vanished like a fart in the wind.....

So funny!

The other day i forgot to bring in my ipod... and there was a guy who just couldn't stop talking! He had skipping rope in his hand ... But wasn't skipping cause i couldn't stop talking to EVERYONE who was trying to workout! What he was talking about i have no clue but it was soo important to disturb Everyone! I had to stop my workout and go get my ipod !! Couldn't handle it! Later one most of the people were out of the gym this guy was still standing in the same place with the ropes talking on his cell phone!!! WTF! Why go to the gym just stay home and talk on the phone!!!!

Another one is people who just Camp or Squat on the machines not working out ... it PRIME TIME 6PM and there sitting there talking!!! CMON JUST GO Home!

you guys i have worked in the gym for a few years and been training for at least 5. Wow today i seen something new. Some 160 pound hero of a 16 year old goes under the squat rack and puts 6 plates total on the olympic bar. He does about a set of 8 dirty reps. Then he puts on 1 more plate a side. I go ask him do you need a spot on this becuase it is pretty heavy. He laughs and sort of gives me a dumb ass look. He then tells me i dont speak english and all this shit. So i walk away and i look back and he puts ANOTHER PLATE ON. Now were up to 5 plates a side for squats free weight. So i watch to see the mess. He starts doing some shallow shitty reps and at about 6 BOOOOOOMMMMM shit hits the fan. He tips over to the side and 5 plates slide off the bar and smash the ground then the bar swings up with fury and the other 5 plates smash off. The guy is rattled and shaken and he leaves right after 3 guys go check on him and pick up his mess.....wow what a goof ball.

I remember a guy walking in the gym, he probably wasn't a member he just walked in wearing a hoodie, grabed the 70 lbs dumbells and sat on the incline bench. He brings up the 70's then his right elbow gives out and the weight just drops right on his forehead. so now he drops the weights on the floor gets up and leaves hahhah.

There's one guy at the gym that makes me laugh, he has the chuck liddell hair cut, wears the tapout shorts, and tank top with very little definition or mass. Maybe 150lbs wet. He usually comes in with some girl that he "trains", doing the same exercises everyday I see him.
Anyways, I do a couple high rep warm ups to get the blood flowing, then for my working sets I remove my sweatshirt and continue.
This guy grabs the girl and heads to a completely vacant area of the gym. I guess he doesn't like a little friendly competition.

I never get enough of the half rep squatters.

But i think the biggest goofballs are the ones who walk over to your bench, with your book, bottle and wraps on it while you are taking a drink. They remove your belongings, take the bench. You get back and politely (wanting to chew off their face) and tell them the bench is taken, thats why all your stuff is on it. Then they get attitude, grunt and eventually walk away. Had an old ugly prick try this on me yesterday. Even left his dumbells at the bench and walked away talking shit about me. I laughed at him and made him even worse. Lol.

This is the same guy who had a bunch of 17 maybe 18 yr olds at the bench next to the bench i was at.

Yesterday i couldn't take it anymore, i don't know if i should have just ignored it or what... There's this kid that trains there, young guy, skinny, typical teenager, not an "idiot" i guess, just clueless.. He comes in and does leg press everytime i've been there, but he loads it up to 7 plates a side and can barely move it.

I'm watching him doing his thing, he gets up and go's and grabs plate number 6, thats when i hollered and said "hey, ROM, goggle it!" He gives me a blank stare and asks "whats that"??.. "Exactlly" i said. Than he has the odasity to say "you don't know what it is do you??" I just about slapped the little bitch.. I just said "oh please, i don't have all day to explain it to ya", and i walked away, **** him!

Ya, the problem is a lot of those sorts of guys don't take constructive criticism very well. Who wants to try to be a nice guy and them freak out? They can suck a dick for all I care but that would turn me off from helping out people. When I worked out at the University gym not once have I seen someone go up and correct someones form without them asking.

When I first started I always approached someone who looked like they've been around the block and asked them to check my form and I think that's what a lot of beginners need to do more.

Very funny thread....Just to add my 2 cents worth...I cant stand equipment stealers. I dont care what---you see weights outta place--wait a few mins to see if they are being used!! Its just polite.

My WORST experiance was a few years ago. Im at the gym...its 6am. Im doing incline bench press. I get up to 275lbs. So Im on the bench leaning forward, headphones on, focusing on getting a good set....picturing myself do it....

So I lean back....grab the bar and lift it off.....BAM!! the left side of the bar goes way higher than the right side and the weights starting falling to the floor. Im like WTF!!!!!!!! did I injure myself??

I look down and notice that there is only 2x45 on the left side of the floor and 2x45 +25 on the right side!! Where is the other 25lbs plate?? I lift my head up and see this 125lbs asian guy 3 feet away from me with a "oh sh!t" look on his face and a 25LBS PLATE IN HIS HANDS!!!

This IDOITTTTTTTTTT took the weight off my bar as I was sitting there!!!!!!!!!! I almost killed him. Suffice it to say---I wont wear headphones at the gym anymore.

Besides that incident....I mean really....If you dont train regularly--stay out of the way of those that do. Is that so hard. Just go try a different hobby...please~!

He was of course doing 95 pound barbell curls in the squat rack while looking at himself in the mirror.

"One more set, he says."

I smile and say "your busted, arm curls in the squat rack. I should take a picture"

He looks at me with confusion and does his next set. Ending the set he looks at me and says, "What's wrong with doing curls in the squat rack?"

I say "Well, it's a squat rack".

He says, "But you can use it for all sort of exercises, look it has a chin up attachments"

I say "Yes, but your doing arm curls. How many places do you see around here where you can do squats?"

She was doing Hack Squats which is right next to the Pecdec where we were, she was on about her 4th rep when we hear a fairly loud fart come from her way!........we both looked at each other and cracked up BIG TIME and she just ditched the gym completely poooor girl!...we felt bad after though but it was just tooo hard to hold it back LOL lol.....about 6 weeks ago i was going for a 5 rm in deadlifts and i was all pumped up and shit.....get to rep 3 and its hard as ****....im pushing my abs out soo hard that i ****ing fart sooo loud i that it shakes me!! so i say **** it and keep going and get it locked out and then dump it and go for rep 4 and same shit......but this time its like 4-5 farts in a row.....machine gunner type shit......by this point i am not even caring as i am feeling like im about to die when i finally get it locked out......now here comes rep 5 and the fart storm hits full force!! it was an artillery barrage of ass bombs.........so i get it locked out and just dump the bar on the floor.....i figure i already made so much sound with my ass that they wont care about the sound of iron hitting the floor........there was probably 10 ppl in there and they had to have heard it but i look like the devil with all the veins shooting out of my head so no one said shit......i had a good laugh.....

Deadlifts are bad when you have gas, IMO deep leg presses are worse. I try to cover them by grunt right after, but im a dead give away. I usually crop dust to the water fountain and back when i do heavy leg movements now.

Clearrrrrrrrly this was my fault. How could I have forgotten collars? Perhaps next time Ill bring an acetylene torch to the gym and weld my weights onto the equipment I use.

thanks :)

wasn't your fault - but like the term "defensive driving", you have to be a "defensive bodybuilder"...Besides, you should be using collars on your heavy set.

Gym idiots are always there, gotta watch out for them. The other day right before my set, a little skinny dude was carrying a bench across the room, as he turned on his way by me, the feet of the bench slammed into my quad right before my first rep of bent over rows...Still have a huge bruise - gotta watch out!

My New Gym Sucks Big Time HAHA, this dude the other day was doing 1\16 squats with about 400 pounds , awesome to say the least, then there was another dude who with his legs on the flat bench pushing himself up in like a yoga fashion to get, I guess, like the maximum arch, would lower the weight half way than drop it to get ultimate bounce off his chest so that he could press it back up, I beleive the weight he was using was about 230 lbs I think he did a about 4 reps like that.
