Not just here but on other forums, rarely we see new threads, they often have hundreds of views with very few or no replies. It seems that most people are using their phone to check, but do not want to post anything because typing on a phone is not as friendly vs a computer.

I think it really socks, especially on the car forums, 10-15 years ago it was wealth of information for DIY repairs or mods, one could ask question and get help/direction, it was a living community and now some of those forums are close and other talk about ending them, even though lots of people log in everyday to see what's on. Not only we see less new good information posted and worst, some are disappearing with all the knowledge built over time. Technology progress, but I don't see any progress in that

Nothing to do with mobile phones...everything to do with video content. Video has basically killed the forum...no one wants to read stuff when they can tune in to youtube etc and just watch content streaming. Anyone in the industry now making money ie Dave Palumbo, John Meadows etc has mostly video content.
