Hi,

I am looking for a strong preworkout that will give me lots of focus and energy. I am not big on pre-WOs, and my first and last was Craze briefly which I thought was pretty good before it was banned.

Now I am looking for something similar. Asking at bb.com always yields BS replies from reps themselves so I thought I would ask here.

Best preworkout...cup of coffee. Prepackaged preworkout products are nothing but stimulants and cause excessive cortisol release and are very taxing on the adrenal system. I would avoid them like the plague!

One thing funny about pre-workout is that they usually contain stimulant like caffeine that are vaso-constrictors because adrenaline stimulation, but they are full of vaso-dilatators like citruline malate, agmantine, arginine, etc.. so you try close everything and open everything at the same time.

I would suggest to go one direction or the other.

Cp recommend caffeine for strength oriented training and the vaso-dilatators products for hypertrophy oriented training.

I have been using Olympus Labs Conqu3r pre-workout. It has a great profile which is non-proprietary so you actually see what you are getting. It gives me the pump & focus during my workouts.

They have a stim and non-stim version which is great for evening workouts or stim breaks. Only downside is that it's not only available online from US stores (not on BB).

Best thing to do, is to buy the stuff you want raw and make your own mix.

Cheaper, no filler and you know what's in.

the best workout in my opinion is shotgun 5x (http://www.samedaysupplements.com/shotgun-5x-by-vpx-sports-exotic-fruit-28-servings.html) from VPX. I prefer to have preworkouts that are low/mild with stims

nitraflex (http://www.samedaysupplements.com/nitraflex-by-gat-pre-workout-300-grams.html) is also an alternative. Especially if you liked craze

I recently used the curse pre workout (http://www.samedaysupplements.com/the-curse-pre-workout-by-cobra-labs.html) from cobra labs which is pretty awesome if you're on a tight budget. Basically a cheaper C4

I hear good things about mr.hyde from some bodybuilders I know. Has a ton of caffeine tho, too much for me

Most pre workouts are just a tonne of stimulants ie caffeine and/or ephedra...cant stand that shit...not to mention the havoc it will wreak on your adrenals.

What I'm using for pre-workout is about 4-500ml of cold coffee from the morning, a scoop of whey, half a scoop of maltodextrin and beta-alanine!

And during training, 2-300 ml of coffee, 1 scoop of whey, half a scoop of maltodextrin and creatine (+ water).

Simple, cheap and does the job. I don't drink coffee in the morning, neither on off days.
