P,

been eating 3 whole omega 3 free range eggs in addition to egg whites as part of breakfast. just found out max cholesterol should be 300mg per day, but with this alone i am up at 600mg? is that a concern?

also

- is there any meal where all three protein/fats/carbs should not be combined?

- i know fats added to a meal slow down gastric emptying and bring gi load, does adding fiber to this also further delay gastric emptying?

thx

The quantity you eat has no real impact on your cholesterol level, usually our body produce 75% of our daily need, the other 25% come from our food. If you eat more cholesterol, you body will produce a little less, if you eat less cholesterol your body will produce a little more, all in all it will balance out. If one thing omega-3 eggs help raise HDL.

Maybe a concern if you cook the yolk solid, it is said that heating the yolk will oxidize the cholesterol, so it's better if it's still liquid, while it's better if the white is cooked.

As Eric said the body regulates cholesterol levels and if you eat more it will produce less. The amount of cholesterol in your food does not correlate to blood levels. I eat 8-10 whole eggs per day and my cholesterol is perfect. Remember cholesterol levels will vary much more with intake of carbohydrate especially simple carbs due to the inflammatory response.
