Jut wondering if someone can give me some examples of their pre workout and postworkout nutrition. Should it be solid food or whey protein? What happens if you take in too much protein? what does body do with extra, store as bodyfat or just excrete? I have chicken and rice an hour before my workout and a whey protein shake 30 min prior to workout. At end of my workout i have whey protein shake and two bagels for carbs. Then a solid food meal consisting of steak, chicken or salmon with sweet potatoes. Please feel to critic my diet plan and give me some ideas on what to have and when? Also is waxy maize worth buying? Thanks in advance. :)

I dont see any issue with your pre and post now. Depending on your lean body mass you should be averaging about 40-50g protein per meal. You can use waxy but it tends to put on fat with guys who have slight to moderate insulin resistance.

Try this before training or even for breakfast.

-10 Oz of Extra lean ground steak
-a handfull of almonds or cashews

I think your protein and carb sources are ok although I tend to recommend a lower carb intake preworkout a la poliquin. The one glaring thing missing though is your micronutrient nutrition. Ya we all know you need macronutrients before/during/after training but don't neglect your micronutrient intake, ESPECIALLY post workout

Personally, I don't think there is such thing as too much proteing. Too much fat, yes. Too much carbs, definitely yes but not too much protein. So far, your diet plan sounds pretty good :)

Cutting edge is pre-intra nutrition which is generally made up of HBCD + Creapure creatine + BCAA's + a hydrolyzed protein source.
