So if I download a blu-ray torrent, is there anyway to play it on my TV through my laptop or an external hard drive?

I dont want to buy a writer, so I'm wondering if theres anyway to get around this and play BDs from CPU just like DIVXs.

If you have the ISO file you should be able to mount the file using Daemon Tools and then play it with CyberLink PowerDVD 8. Daemon Tools is a freebie but the player is about $100, but there is a free trial. I will admit to not having tried this but it should work.
