Hey everyone, hope someone has a great tip for this. I pulled my sciatica nerve yesterday while lowering a heavy barbell. It aches like a b**** today!
I know it's the sciatic nerve because I had this before and it took a long time to finally heal, like 5-6 weeks. What do you guys do as far as homemade therapy goes. Lots of salt-heavy baths? Help me, thank you.
Wobenzyme and a shit load of it. Traumel Cream on the affected area. Ice and Ice and More Ice. Stretch the shit out of your hip flexors, calves, hammies and glutes.

I was off 6 months with my back. Any amount of time off is frustrating I know, but with the back you just have to be patient. i would rest it for a while before i even thought about stretching, wait for the initial inflamation to subside. Try an antiimflamatory, pick up some icepacks and ice consistently through out the day.
Lay down on your back on the bed, bring your knees to your chest, wrap your arms around your shins and squeeze your knees against your chest and hold.. then, lay on your belly and reach behind yourself with your arms and grab your feet or ankles and pull your feet tward your head so that your pelvis/back is arched.. hold this position.
Do each of these a few times (alternating)
.
also.. use ice and ibu as as already suggested

Thank you everyone, feeling better already. This sucks because I lift heavy doing my barbell curls and the back does get exercised as well. Well, slow does it I guess.
