I been training hard to get my big three lifts numbers higher in the past 6 months. In the process my overall weight has shot up too. I would like to lose some body fat but I would hate to lose some strength.

My question is 2 part: What type of diet do you guys use to make weight for competitions?
Does training and cardio change when you cut or you keep it the same?

Any feed back is appreciated.

You will generally tend to lose strength on some lifts and you may gain on some. Iv'e pulled triple over bodyweight deadlifts while three weeks out from a BB contest. Most people will tend to lose some strength on the squat and the bench....mostly due to lowered leverage from lower glycogen levels. The thing is you shouldnt worry too much about dropping a bit of strength as it is more important to drop body fat and once you hit your goal you can add some carbs back in to your diet and your strength will rebound quickly. Diet used is individualistic but either way you will need to cut carbs to drop body fat as well as introduce some cardio. Training never really changes just diet and cardio.

Thanks for the response P.
Should I be doing HIT cardio or slow burning cardio (bodybuilding)? What type of cardio would you recommend?

Depends on your diet...if you are carb cycling then HIT is ok...if you are on keto then low intensity cardio should be used.
