That's a shame. Don't think he would have won it, but still a shame. This is what these guys train for.

I was really looking forward to seeing what he looked like this year. His upper body really seems to be catching up to his legs, and he obviously trains like a beast.

I think he trains like a bit of an idiot. Yelling and grunting and throwing weights around. I saw a couple of his videos and personally I would exhange what most people call hardcore with the word dumb. The fact that he injured himself this close to the O speaks volumes. It sucks he can't compete though, I was also looking forward to seeing what he would bring.

Branch Warren is officially out of the 2008 Mr Olympia contest. According to Warren, "I slipped while walking down a flight of steps at my house. When I tried to catch myself and stop the fall, the quick, sudden, movement caused a small tear in my triceps where it attaches at the elbow. "

Never one to let a setback get him down, "The Working Man's Bodybuilder" is having the tendon surgically repaired later this morning. Warren insists that he'll continue training his lower body while the triceps injury heals. He also promises to be ready to compete by the time the Arnold Classic rolls around in March 2009.

Branch had surgery this early morning, Friday August 15th, for tricep injury. The surgery was very successful. Branch was in the best shape of his life before the injury.. We wish him a speedy recovery. And Branch promises to be ready for the Arnold Classic March 2009. Dave Palumbo will do a post surgery update and interview with Branch on MDTV this weekend at the Europa Super Show. Stay tuned....

He was supposed to guest pose in Newfoundland around the same time as the Olympia. Not sure if he's going to have to cancel that as well.
