Whats everyone think of this guy? I know he doesn't have a chance, but he has some cool views.

"Since the September 11th terrorist attacks, the government has asked or forced Americans to sacrifice their privacy rights in exchange for the promise of more security. In the face of relentless scare-mongering by the Bush Administration, the public — and most members of the Congress — has generally complied."

He's got a point though, does the Patriot Act really make us safer? We sure lost alot of rights down south of the border and north as well. Any of you ever write to your mp? Guess what, CSIS investigates every canadian that contact their mp or mpp.

I was reading that border guards now have the right to confiscate your phone and laptops and go through it with a fine comb and hold it until they do it themselves or send it out to be done. This is whether or not you have done anything illegal. Sick laws there. Anyone have the link?

It was mentioned by Leo Laporte himself, both sides are doing it now. God help you if you have one pirated movie or mp3 on your harddrive.

The New World Order is just getting started.

Democracy is an illusion.

This is not unique to the US. On the way back from Cuba once I was asked to show all the photos on my digital camera to a Canadian Customs officer. Because there was very personal photos on it, and I told her so, I did want to show them to her. I told her it was an invasion of my privacy and that I was offended as a Canadian citizen to be treated this way. I was told that this was routine and ANYTHING entering Canada they had the authority to examine. To keep my personal life personal I formatted the card before handing the camera over. She was pissed.

Ironically the Libertarian Party opposed his last campaign on the grounds of his opposition to medical marijuana, etc. and were actually happy when he lost in 2003. Just another politician changing his views for his own advantage.

Jesse Ventura said it best when he told Larry King Bob Barr was not a Libertarian because he is anti-abortion.

Some of the stuff he and Ron Paul advocate makes a lot of sense, but lets not forget that Paul suffers from extreme paranoia to the point where he advocates the existence of para military groups like the Michigan Militia.

Ron Paul is a running mate, yes? somewhat similar views, but also different.

Paul folded his campaign and theres rumors of an alliance.
