View Full Version : Good idea to do AAS while on a Ketogenic diet?

Hey folks,
So I have been in ketosis for 5 days now. I feel weak, and my fat is melting away by the minute, but so are my muscles.
I want to start an AAS cycle (my last cycle is over 2 years old).
Would you guys recommend I do a cycle while on the keto diet? or maybe drop the diet all together and start a cycle with a "clean" (but not restrictive) diet.
Right now I am sitting at 205Lbs, @ 14% BF (5"10)

If your goals are to just keep your current mass and shed fat I would just run some clen while on your Keto. It worked really well for my body, it accellerated my fat loss and helped with the catabolism. Also alot was in my head, I looked alot flatter because of the diet, once I carbed up I looked immediately better.
I guess the other option is just low dose test.. depends on your goals my friend!

My goal is to pickup more muscle mass and to shed the fat. I want to be @ 225 with 8% BF ... I hate being skinny :D

Could keep it simple with:
10-12 Weeks Test, 400-500mg/week with 100g carbs a day. 50 w/ breakfast 50 post workout. Rest of cals from proteins / fats. You put on 10-15 LBS, most of it clean with that diet, and very little bloat.
Leaving you at 215-220 and lower BF. :)

I'm running a keto diet on a cutter cycle. Fat is melting and muscle is remaining the same.

gsxr, i like your KISS approach.
So no need for an exotic cycle like adding Boldenone, or var... just good ol plain test.

I'm running Tren 50mg EOD and var 35mg/day. I'm running just a TRT amount of Test but am considering upping it. Tren and Var suppress my appetite, which makes it easier to stick to 1800 cals/day while on Keto.

definitely youll need aas if you wanna add muscle while dieting ,being 2 years off test should work great for ya. but 205 to 225 with less bf is a big goal,id be doing a lean bulker to get to that ,eat lots of pt med fat low carbs use your carb intake to control your rate of gain. id do 16 weeker on test. dont know your exp, but tren is great for leaning while gaining.

I don't have access to Tren right now, what about Test + Eq for 16 weeks?
Say 400 test + 400 eq?
id use test and var.....400 per week test and 50-60mg per day var......thats what I am doing right now.....I went from 210 to 230 and my bf is down from 14.7 to 13.5 as of today........its a simple cycle and not very harsh on sides.....in fact I am gonna up the var to 75 per day on monday.....tomorrow i will be on my 7th week......

no .....keto makes me very unpleasant...to say the least.....high protein, moderate carbs, healthy fats.....

gains are slow and steady on eq , would be a good choice, appetite increase could work for you or against you,depending on what you eat. i think your gonna want that appetite for your goals just eat lots of clean food

Chances are that you won't build any muscle on a keto diet. You need to play with your insulin(by adding carbs) to build muscles. Really important!
IF you're following a keto diet, I would stay on something like test+tren or the test(400)/eq(600) combo IMO. That way, you'll be sure to do not lose any muscle mass. Also don't forget, it's normal to feel flat on a keto diet. You'll be depleted.

I guess what is confusing me a bit is that there are bbers out there that are on CKD and claiming to loose fat and still manage to gain muscle mass.

.ya but their prob on alot of stuff, if i was you i wouldkeep protein high use carbs to control weight gain ,if your getting too fat back off on carbs if your not gaining up them some,keep protein high and make sure you always take in pwo carb/ protein drink

It's not rocket science. It's called using insulin sensitivity to it's maximal effect, as well as glycogen saturation. ;)
I'm going to try BodyOpus one day, it's a CKD but more complicated than most. And it is possible to gain muscle on CKD/TKD, just depends on your work ethic, and planning.
I gained a few lbs of lean mass off of the one I did last year, and got leaner. And that was as a natural, so no, the drugs are not always an answer.
