View Full Version : Length or dose of AAS?
Hello sir, I used to frequent the boards back in the day and have a well rounded knowledge about AAS, or at least the anecdotal knowledge of the years gone by. I've always wondered though, if you have any information or anecdotal knowledge on Length vs dose of AAS and the positive vs negative outcomes of each? E.g. Would running Testosterone at 250mg/week, and 20mg of Dbol/day for 16 and 8 weeks respectively, be better. worse, or the same as double the dosages cutting the Testosterone back four weeks to the standard 12 weeks which would increase the overall amount of test in the cycle (500mg/w), and the dbol to the standard 4 weeks, keeping the same amount of dbol in the cycle (40mg/d). Either of these cycles are not something I'm planning to do, I'm just curious on your take on Length vs Dose. Is one safer? More effective? Does overall milligram total at the end of the day the real issue, or is the length of time on at the end of the day the real issue? Thank you!

As with most drugs the dosages used from minimal to maximum can be plotted on a graph (dosage vs side effects) that appears as an ascending curve. (looks like the right half of a U)
Starting at a low dose that will have almost no performance benefit moving to an optimal dosage where performance is highest and sides are only moderate moving to where performance no longer improves or actually drops and sides become greatest.
To say using a lower dose over a longer time is safer is actually false...this is because at a lower does the HPTA is still suppressed and gains are limited which goes against the very idea of taking aas to begin with. The reason behind taking aas is to maximize gains while minimizing negative sides and to do this optimally and to be able to recover afterwards in essence keeping healthy.
The dosage used for maximum gains and minimal sides will vary depending on the athlete, their age, cycle history, product used, etc. Starting out one should use a lower dose that still provides great gains with little sides. If one initially goes to the max dosage then what will they do when their body starts to attenuate to the drug? They have nowhere left to go. As an example the optimal dosage for testosterone is approx 1000mg weekly. Going over this leads to little in terms of gains but alot in terms of sides. However for one starting out 500mg weekly is more than enough to equate to optimal gains leaving a higher dosage for when they are much further advanced. As for optimal cycle length for muscle gains I would recommend for most 12 weeks. This is because most make their greatest gains in the first ten weeks. After that gains usually slow down drastically or halt altogether and the individual increases calories etc to keep them going and just ends up putting on more fat because they need to see the scale go up. For dieting it s a bit longer ie 16-18 weeks because it takes more time to get into contest shape for most.
