It says it removes your IP when sending mail, that sounds good...GSXR or anyone wanna take a look, he'd know more about this

Without doubt...

You could prevent LE from getting your e-mails by using a program that essentially turns your computer and the host computer into their own mail servers. Mail exchange would occurr between your own computers and nowhere else, through encryption and your own domains.

But then you get into where they can just track who registered the domain and trace it back to you.

You need to be anonymous at your SOURCE to the internet. LE can read your e-mails all day long as long as you don't give out your real home address. They will just track you back to what, a wireless router in the middle of nowhere, or a computer running a trojan that's allowing me to access through their connection. ( Which of course i'd destroy all data on once i'm done using it ) Sorry! :X

Or, find someone you trust in your area and have their DSL modem / Cable modem get 'stolen'. For cable modems they will work no matter what node you are on as long as it's on the same cable system, the CMTS' aren't programmed with the CM files on the modem to only allow your cable modem to connect from a certain address. LE would show up at your buddies, your buddy says oh that modem got stolen! Did you find it?! ( Just make sure you don't call it in to your ISP stolen so it remains active )

For a DSL connection you'll need to set up what's called a Dry loop connection, for those actually tie into your phone number you registered with your ISP.

Food for thought.

My point is, everything leaves a trace. Everything can be 'undeleted'. You want your tracks to lead to a point where they go no further. Once you achieve that, you have nothing to worry about.

And it can be done. 100% You only hear about the ones that didn't do it right.

Read about the Mydoom virus that was sent around in 2004. $250,000 reward and they still haven't found the guy. ;)

I could endlessly go on the topic of Internet anonymity, masquerading, proxies, tracing, hacking, virii...but I won't.

Needless to say that most of your activities on the Internet can be traced back to you unless you take precautionary measures.

So be careful, there is no such thing as a 100% anonymous Internet unless you know what your doing and that you are taking specific explicit steps to cover your traces.

As far as anonymous e-mails are concerned, yes you can use an anonymous SMTP client and server through a service like "Anonymous Offshore", but these guys might be keeping logs on your IP address, login details, etc...If you want to be really safe take extra precautionary measures even when a company is advertising full anonymity services or offerings.

You got it! Rely on nobody else for your own security. I can't see any of those companies taking specific measures to keep their connection log files from being recoverable. Do it on your own.
