Prae, I am a fairly regular follower of your threads and find them very informative and useful. One quick question about the use of Beta alanine as a preworkout supplement.. I have used up to 2 grams a day for a few weeks and find that it does give somewhat of a boost once I got used past the tingling. Just wondering if increasing the dose to 4 or 5 grams as will really make a big difference. I also noticed that GNC took it off the shelf in Canada in powdered form which make me wonder why.....
your comments on this would be appreciated.

As an FYI there is no real reason to dose BA preworkout, it's best taken in split doses throughout the day to avoid the "tingles" unless you really like them I guess. 2 grams twice daily is a good starting point, some people go as high as 6 grams a day. Like creatine it takes time to build up in your system so keep it up.

Between 4-6 grams daily has been seen as the optimal dosage for at least 12weeks duration. No negative sides were seen in controlled studies at this dosage.

Oh I though you took more then that! I'm at 5-6g before workout and 5-6g during workout. Barely feel the tingling.

The parathesia ( tingling ) or lack of, does not mean it is not working for you, and will subside over a few weeks of consistent use. Here again, there is no reason to dose BA pre-workout, and certainly no need to dose it intra. 6 grams daily is plenty.
