''Casey Viator has past away on his birthday at the age of 62 (September 4, 1951 – September 4, 2013). Although cause of death may still be in the process of being investigated, rumor has it that Casey died of a heart attack in his sleep.''

AFAIK he was natural, in his family they seems to be genetically gifted, it is said his sister was strong like a bull, enough to humiliate most guys in a gym without even training.

It feels weird to see somebody that has training for the most of his life going away so young. Though I don't know if he had good eating habits or had any predisposition that lead to his death.

Talented but I don't think he was natty. After his first go round he went to work on the rigs on the Loisianna coast and went down to 165 pounds.I'm fairly certain he was not natty during the 80's.

I remember an m&f article with him and his two large training partners doing chest.Heavy weights, strip sets,he would go after each of them.

AFAIK the lightest he went was in 73, Casey (he was 200lbs) had an accident and he lost most of his little finger then he almost died from an allergic reaction to an anti-tetanus injection, he lost 33lbs, down to 167lbs.

Interesting note is that Arthur Jones made Casey work a plan of his HIT with accentuated negative, he went from 167lbs to 212lbs in 28 days (45lbs gain). Of course muscle came into play, which is normal, but the extra gain helped prove Arthur's point that people should pay more attention to negative/lowering phase of an exercise; negative work was overlooked in those days.

Great bbber back in the day but in no way was he a natty. I don't believe that any bber in history has turned pro without AAS. Not Coleman , Nubret , Oliva ,Viator ,and certainly not Mike Ashley. I've seen some impressive natty builds in 25 years of gyms but never anyone close enough to being pro.

I know that Jone trained Oliva for a while and said that he was on gear and this was not a secret, but he said Casey was natty under him, since he was using Casey to promote HIT he said he would not tolerate any enhancing drugs and he was supposedly very strict with him. Not saying it's true, just saying info.
