Not too shabby, the only thing I don't like is the constant droning of the music. I like the sounds of a gym and clanging of plates more than loud rap, but that may just be me........you look like you're getting in great shape for your show, good luck.

Hated the music , had to turn the volume off. But like Scott said - looks like you are making good progress. I'll keep watching them if you keep putting them up. Still pretty strong considering you are this close to show time. Good luck.

Thank you very much, i agree with keeping some sound in. Im with you Scott, love the sound of iron. There is a gym in Pembroke I would love to shot at, they have huge metal dumbbells, they go up to 160. I think the gym goes by the name phase1, its a great place. Also the YMCA in Kingston has some great old equipment and a pair of 150lb Ivenko DB's. We still have a leg and an arm day to document but it may have to go on hold until i take my vacation from work 3 weeks out. I noticed i still have lot of back fat from the video so im going to resume hitt minimum to days a week and focus and prepping my food. As for the music, im trying to keep it versatile by having rap in one video, dubstep in the next. I also have a vid with system of the down and Mr Oizo. Any suggestions for a sound track ( i will keep the iron noises in the background). Thanks for the comments and the feed back. Hey, are you competing in any shows or provincial, national level?

Since the day I started to work out, I always thought, if I could walk on stage at 250lbs, I would try a show. Now that I've come close to that size,(285lbs. at around 10% bf. this summer), I don't think 250 is big enough now to compete with the big heavyweights. Now I've set my sights on 275lb contest weight and then maybe, if I think I can survive the prep.

I was a KIngston YMCA member for 15 years. Those DBs were great but I had to quit because they got rid of 75% of their good equipment. Some stupid bitch who runs the place sold it all off and bought complete shit. I mean the worst shit possible.

I just don't think that's enough anymore. A big superheavy is walking on stage at 285lbs. I'm 6' tall, too, so I probably need to be 290ish to look as big as I want to.

In the shows I have been to there are never many if an super heavy bb at all. Once you get into provincial and national the game changes. If you can come in over 220 shreded for your first show you will win. 6'0 250 10 on stage at 222 you would dominate.

Hey Cog, I do more than just those two exercises, it is more of a motivational type video then an educational. At this point my channel is in its infancy, because i am less than 6 weeks out i don’t want to put too much time into it, I really wanted some footage of what goes into a show prep work-out. What i show is more or less a small sample; i find it I am to do a long series like I did with the back video's people will get bored.
Once I’m done the show I would like to start up vlogs about nutrition and training, those will be more comprehensive. I am still uncertain about touching on other bodybuilding topics such as sports supplementation and enhanced supplementation; I don’t want the younger audience to get the wrong message although I would prefer them to be educated rather than doing stupidity without proper understanding.
I do 21's as well, hammer curls, close grip bench, skull crushers.. Truth be told I had no camera guy this time around and had to bother some kid to shot the exercises that i did record.
As for the rest of you; I will start an independent Rap battle thread so you guys can duke it out, just don’t talk about my momma

Nice videos. I presume you are not doing this with permission from the gym and just having someone hold a smartphone? I have gone through hell and high water to attempt to get some pictures... video would be a no go at any gym i have tried >_<
Interesting to hear you guys talk about the kingston YMCA, of all the YMCA's i have been to it is by far my favourite, it was dark, and had a think layer of dust under all of the equipment, the equipment was old and well worn, but it had a good vibe and there was not one university student there... my girlfriend graduated from queens and would sneak me into the queens university gym... worse gym experience of my life...

I haven't been to it yet but apparently the new Queen's gym is wicked. A full compliment of powerlifting equipment as well. The Y has piece by piece managed to sell off all their good old stuff. Still have the best DBs ever though.

The new queens gym is so odd... there equipment is spread out over 6 floors, it is full of university students (i mean FULL), no body wipes any equipment, no one puts ANYTHING back there is dumb bells and plates all over the floors everywhere. They do not have a incline bar bell bench... i looked EVERYWHERE, asked employees and they did not even know what that was... It is like a sanctuary for yuppies...

non-sense! at 6 foot and 250 shredded you'd likely win a provincial level show and be in the top 5 nationally unless you have symmetry issues. Guys like Ron Partlow are over 6 foot and compete at 250-260. The overall winner this year at nationals (Henri Pierre) was a tall dude - no way was he a pound over 250. Year before Antoine took it and claims to be 6 foot at 250 - and he wasn't even shredded when he took it. Mike Johnson was 218 on stage at 5'10 and took the overall the year before that.
I say go for it. If you wait until you think you're big enough you'll never compete. Kinda like parents waiting until they are prepared to have a kid. No one is ever prepared to have a kid - you have one, then you learn how to be a good parent..... No one is ever as big as they want to be - but you have to take the first step somewhere. Also, to be good in the sport, you don't just take home a title the first try out. it takes years of learning your body, getting leaner and better each show.
As for the youtube videos... memories of my old goodlife gym on walkley! Good to keep those videos too - like you said, it helps put into perspective if you need to still work on some areas. when someone else films you, you really get to see what you look like from all angles. When prepping I usually get too lazy to keep up with pics and vids, although good to have for next prep as well - just to make sure you're on "pace" from last prep. As for the music, put whatever you you like in the videos! If we don't like it, we can turn it down. Not like these vids are going into the generation iron movie, so just have fun with it.

Not like these vids are going into the generation iron movie, so just have fun with it.You are correct about never being big enough. when I started training at 175lbs., I thought if I could make it to 200lbs. I'd be happy, then it was 220, 240, now I'm thinking 300.The problem is, in my eyes, because the change in my body has been over the course of 20 years, I don't really see the results like I probably should. 110lbs of extra muscle should make me happy but not ready to say enough. As for symmetry issues, I'm actually very symmetrical but what I see in the super heavyweights is gigantic legs which aren't symmetrical with the rest of their bodies. My legs aren't bad, I have 30 " thighs and 19" calves but I would like at least 2 more inches in both of these. Greg Kovacs trained for a while at our gym in Grimsby and after seeing him train in person I don't think I'll ever feel big. Anyway, I'm gonna keep pluggin' and see what happens by next summer.

Man I'm a shrimp compared to you and I did competitions!
Go for it, do it for the experience, see this as a practice for latter! With all the work you have put into it over the last 20 years, you are more then ready to step on the stage.
+ You'll have nice pictures and memories when you'll look back in another 20 years and you'll be glad you did it.

I agree at that size and weight you would be a candidate to win nationals. Try an amature show, I was just told that this yer the winston invite will not even have a super heavy class so a 240lb guy would go against 198lb guys.

Agreed; Stage weight is hard to predict. I remember being 5 weeks out at 210 and hitting the scale at 190. It all depends on you manipulations prior to getting on stage.
Still, you look like a big boy.. and trust me, the best gains are made in-between shows. Your body gets into a state of shock ‘wow, im so fing lean’ then you start eating like a hoarse and still put on mass but little fat for a good 4 months. I think to get to pro level big you have to compete or reset once a year as if you were to compete. Any ways, don’t worry about looking small, from your avi I can tell your huge. Get up there and have fun, be your best. The first show is for learning, most guys don’t kill the first show. It takes time….

Very true words. I was 270 when i started my prep, and pretty hard, i thought 245 on stage for absolute certainty....LOL
i was 223 my first time out and could have gone tighter a bit.
I am going to go again this spring and i should be closer to the 235-240 mark, but again, it is crazy what happens.
So One very well may be 285lbs and 6 feet tall. As i am 6 foot plus as well, and a hard 270 was nothing when i cut up to compete. The fat from intrabody is dramatic, the water is crazy, and a bit of muscle loss will happen.
So yeah, that 285 lbs may very well be about 220 when all is said and done.
No kidding.
Give it a whirl man, even do a mock diet for 12 weeks for fun sometime. Then re evaluate.
No offense intended, but some get offended by the truth anyways...lol

I did have pics, i had to remove lots because i posted pics of my harley and fishing and trueprotein stuff,As we can only post so much and it gets full...
I did a show CC also did one, she won overall and her weight class, first time out. Under my guidance. I came in at 223 lbs after taking a diuretic and thinking i was holding water, when in reality i had some more dieting to do, another 2 weeks would have done it.
I droppped 10 lbs in 24 hours and looked like shit in am show,For the evening, I filled back out to my 233 lbs i was prior to diuretic, and looked great at night show. Judges gave me great feedback, also knew exactly what i did wrong by seeing me, and said i would have been second and pushed the guy that won first and overall had i not taken diazide the night prior., damage was done in morning show, came in fourth, learned a shitload. Now trying again in the fall, should be better. .....
Its easy to say you could/would do this, want to do that, but the absolute truth is, no-one knows until they get way down in single digit BF like 6% or a bit less what they can do, the world and physique changes at sub 8%, hell at sub 10%. Good times, and i love it..
