I have decided to start training with hopes of competing. I just had a few questions for those of you in the know:
1) Are juniors 21 and under or only under 21?
2) Are the Nova Scotia provincials the only show in the province?
3) How far in advance are upcoming shows booked?

Thanks to all who contribute

Hi 5151, good luck man. Keep us posted how it goes. Today, provincial championships, tomorrow, Mr.O :-)

Juniors are under 21 (so 20 or younger).

I'm not completly sure if the provincial show is the only one but I doubt it. There is a tier system and Provincials are level 3. I would assume there would be some level one and two shows but I'm not sure.

Usually at the beginning of the year you can see what the event schedule is like. Although shows in particular places are usually on particular days that don't change from year to year. Try to find a website for Bodybuilding in Nova Scotia. I would think there would be one.

I'm pretty sure juniors are 21 and under meaning you can be u pto 21 yrs old. You will have level 1, 2 and 3 shows in every province as far as I know. Wouldn't make much sense to just have provincials because you'd have to do some serious travelling for level 1 shows. Hope that helps.

thanks guys that is the site I know. I've checked all around and the only nova scotia show I see is that one. It wouldn't surprise me though with the size and population of the province.

I'll just flip the contact an e-mail

Actually, in Nova Scotia, the provincial show IS the only show available unless you're doing FAME. There was an second show [an 'open' show] a few years back but hasn't done a repeat. There is no tiered system in N.S, though there can be, literally, a HUGE turnout at the provincials when it's on in the spring (Apr/May). Even though the population may be a bit small in NS, I think NFLD might have 2 or 3 shows, NB usually has a few (not to mention the Atlantics are held there too), not sure about PEI.

Thanks for the info. I think I will try to hit the NS provincials and if I decide to return home for the summer do a level 1 show in Ontario within a few week time frame.

If you're from NS, then can't see why not. I think they may have even softened the policy on doing CBBF and FAME? If you're originally from Ont. then you probably would want to check with them, chances are there might be something concerning your province/residence of origin.
