For Nate or anyone else who has bought knee sleeves from Elite Fitness I have a question. Recently I took some very good creatine and suddenly have added a few more plates to the leg press and squat bar. Problem is I've had some recent knee injuries and could use more stability and warmth for the joints. I bought some of their heavy duty elbow sleeves and lift pain free so I like their product. But the sizing chart they have is bloody useless. I was going through an old thread and Nate looked as though he was looking at buying what I'm looking for. This is an old pic but I'm pretty much the same now. Maybe a tad less meat around the knee. Calves are 18 or so. 35166

Nice wheels!

They used to be. I'm looking at them now and thinking there is no way they are still that good. Still decent upper thigh but not around the knee. I was doing 600lb hacks followed by 335lb extensions with very strict form. Now I can only leg press and Smith machine squat. The heavy extensions ruined my meniscus. Pretty stupid to rotate your toes outwards at the top.

Certainly heard of utilizing diff toe positions but never rotating them.Never been able to get quads like that.

I think I did them that way because I recall seeing a video of Tom Platz doing them with his toes pointed outwards and squeezing at the top. I got away with it for a while but the surgeon said guaranteed that is why I tore my meniscus.

Big wheels indeed! It socks that you can't do leg extension anymore, in my experience it build well near the knees. For about 2 years I've stop doing squats and leg presses to allow my upper body to catch up (chopsticks arms) and I did only leg extension and some leg curls and it did indeed increase the lower parts of the thigh while maintaining the upper parts for the 2 years or so.

One protocol I did for a while, and maybe it could work for you because you need to use a lighter weight is to do slow motion leg extension (something I got from El Darden): 10 sec concentric and 5 sec eccentric, 10-15 reps, it's very painful and long, but it was not hard on the joints... it worked well for me (maybe not on everyone), might wanna try this. One or 2 sets at the end of the workout. Welcome to burning pain though. You need someone to time you, to get 10 real sec and 5 real sec.

Those both look good. Nate - are those easy to get off between sets ? Talo's look fairly easy from a multi set bodybuilding standpoint. They can be rolled down to the ankles bewteen sets.

I have the Original Rehband like Talo posted and they are easy to pull down if you want but I usually keep them on for a full 1.5 to 2hr workout, they are comfortable and my knees feel good with them on. They aren't as tight as knee wraps so don't cut off the circulation so much. It's more for compression and heat from the neoprene. I love them.
