View Full Version : Genetics; Any point in trying to compete?

Hey guys, this may seem like a retarded question, but here it is.

Basically, I appear to have tiny veins despite being 6ft 228lbs (17 - 20% BF). I'm also heavy as f*ck. I've always been heavy (not fat like I am now), even looking skinny as a skeleton a few years back I was weighing in around 190. I plan to begin a longish cut here shortly and really get my BF #'s in a respectable area so I can honestly assess myself. But given what I already know of myself, especially the veins (wish I knew why I was hung up on this), is there really much point in trying to compete? I've always been impressed with vasculature, and it just seems like my skinny little spaghetti noodle veins just aren't going to cut it.

Veins would come with lower bodyfat and muscular density.Other things are much more important, such as structure.

Veins don't win show! If you have not the best genetics to be a bodybuilder stay natural and compete in natural competitions, like IDFA, they have novice, amateur and pro levels. Your greatest motivation should be to achieve the best your genetics can allow you and the novice level is an easy entry, some look like they never trained, ever.

Thanks guys, very much appreciate the input. I figured it was a silly concern, but hey, everyone is neurotic when it comes to their body image I find, haha.
