Have you been doing the Viking press Andre?

I haven't yet and I'm competing in this competition so I'm looking forward to trying it. Why?

If its the press with the long lever at a 45 deg angle we are talking about, you are allowed to drive with the legs,IIRC.The first part is a big load on the front delts.Just wondering what kind of weights were expected to be moved.

Yeah, that's it. It's a leverage lift. Marty, the organizer wants it to feel like 225-250lbs in your hands and it will be for max reps.

With leverage lifts like this you might have to put 350lbs on it so it feels like 250lbs in your hands it depends on the length of the lever. We will test it prior with different guys doing barbell push press then this press and getting it as close as possible to feeling like 225-250lbs in your hands.

I am not a good presser so I've gotten used to doing push jerks and double dipping. Double dipping is when you push press or push jerk and then if the bar stalls on the way up you dip again to lock it out..

With the viking press you are not allowed double dipping so it will be a challenge for me when the bar slows to not dip underneath it, it's become almost a reflex. Strong strict pressers usually do better on this event.
